We are in search of a VP, Account Management. As VP, Account Management, you will play a critical leadership role in building and scaling Simplistic's Account Management function. This role sits at the intersection of client relationships, delivery, and commercial growth—ensuring our clients receive exceptional service while identifying opportunities to expand partnerships and drive long-term revenue growth.

You will lead and develop a team of Account Directors, establish the systems and processes that support consistent account management, and serve as a senior strategic partner across Simplistic's most important client relationships. This role requires strong commercial acumen, leadership, operational thinking, and the ability to translate client needs into meaningful business outcomes.

We are an eCommerce design, development, and optimization agency for D2C brands on the Shopify/Shopify Plus platform.

As a VP, ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT, this role could include:

Build and Scale the Account Management Function

  • Design and implement Simplistic's Account Management operating model, including account segmentation, planning frameworks, QBR standards, expansion strategies, and client engagement best practices.
  • Establish scalable processes, playbooks, reporting, and tools that enable Account Directors to operate consistently and effectively.
  • Create account health frameworks and performance metrics that provide visibility into client satisfaction, growth opportunities, retention, and risk.
  • Develop and continuously improve the systems that support long-term client success and revenue expansion.

Lead and Develop the Account Director Team

  • Recruit, coach, and retain a high-performing team of Account Directors.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, accountability measures, and career development opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing coaching around account planning, relationship management, expansion strategies, executive communication, and client leadership.
  • Foster a culture focused on client success, commercial growth, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Drive Revenue Growth Across Existing Accounts

  • Own account expansion and growth targets across the existing client portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities for both horizontal growth (new services within existing clients) and linear growth (expansion of current engagements).
  • Partner closely with Business Development and Sales teams to ensure smooth transitions from new client acquisition into ongoing account management.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Alliances, Delivery, Data, UX, Commerce, Performance Marketing, and emerging service lines to identify new growth opportunities.

Serve as a Senior Strategic Partner for Key Clients

  • Lead strategic business reviews, executive client meetings, and quarterly business reviews for Simplistic's most important accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive stakeholders, decision makers, and key client champions.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client issues and ensure challenges are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by helping clients align business objectives with Simplistic's capabilities and expertise.

Connect Account Management to Delivery

  • Partner closely with Delivery leadership to ensure client goals are aligned with project execution.
  • Help ensure engagements are structured around client outcomes rather than simply task completion.
  • Identify risks related to scope, quality, capacity, or expectations before they impact client relationships.
  • Maintain visibility into both account growth and account profitability to support healthy long-term partnerships.

Support Company Growth and Strategic Initiatives

  • Contribute to organizational planning, service expansion, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to improve client retention, account profitability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Help establish Simplistic as a long-term strategic partner within client organizations.

Required Competencies

  • 10+ years of experience in Account Management, Client Services, Business Development, Consulting, Agency Services, or related client-facing commercial roles.
  • Proven experience leading and developing Account Management, Client Success, or Client Services teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing enterprise-level client relationships and driving revenue growth through account expansion.
  • Strong understanding of account planning, client retention, cross-sell strategies, and executive relationship management.
  • Experience building processes, systems, and operating frameworks that support scalable growth.
  • Ability to navigate complex client environments and influence multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in eCommerce, digital consulting, digital transformation, or agency environments utilizing Shopify/Shopify Plus ecosystem.
  • Experience supporting PE-backed, high-growth, or rapidly scaling organizations.
  • Familiarity with commercial forecasting, account profitability analysis, and strategic planning
