About Us:

At Kooth, our mission is to create welcoming, accessible spaces for personalized digital mental health care that empower young people to thrive. Our early-intervention model enables youth aged 13–25 to build resilience, access timely support, and lead fulfilling lives.

We are more than a digital service — we are a movement for inclusive, evidence-informed mental health care. Our culture is grounded in our values: Alongside You, Flexible, Compassionate, Committed, and Safe. Together, we’re building a brighter, more connected future for youth mental health.

Soluna is California’s first-in-the-nation digital behavioral health service for 13–25-year-olds. By removing barriers to care, Soluna provides nearly immediate access to 1:1 coaching, Care Navigation, and self-guided tools — helping young people find real support, build resilience, and discover hope when they need it most. We're working hard to transform access to care for California’s youth. Learn more at solunaapp.com/impact.

What We’re Looking For:

The Vice President of Partnerships and Account Management, California is a pivotal senior leadership role responsible for Kooth’s largest and most strategic client relationship — the State of California.

This individual will lead the strategic and operational integration of Kooth’s services across California’s behavioral health ecosystem. They will be accountable for embedding Soluna as a trusted, sustainable component of the state’s youth mental health infrastructure — driving usage, demonstrating measurable impact, systemic alignment and securing long-term funding.

Working closely with senior internal leaders, state and system stakeholders, and community partners, this leader will develop and deliver a strategic roadmap that ensures contract renewal and growth as well as additional growth opportunities across the state.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Strategic Leadership & Partnership Stewardship

  • Serve as the executive lead for Kooth’s California partnership, ensuring alignment with state priorities and sustained program performance.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for embedding Soluna within California’s youth mental health ecosystem, ensuring integration across managed care organisations, education, community, and healthcare settings.
  • Act as Kooth’s senior external representative with state and county agencies, policymakers, managed care organisations and community organisations.
  • Drive collaboration with state leadership and system partners to strengthen understanding, advocacy, and adoption of the service.

Client & Program Performance

  • Lead overall contract performance, ensuring delivery against KPIs, outcomes, and impact measures.
  • Translate data insights and program metrics into compelling narratives that demonstrate value and inform future policy and funding decisions.
  • Oversee usage and engagement strategies, ensuring continued growth, high-quality delivery, and evidence-based improvement.
  • Identify risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to maintain program integrity and stakeholder confidence.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships with state and regional decision-makers, including agency leaders, legislators, managed care organisations and community partners.
  • Coordinate internal alignment across clinical, product, research, marketing, and service delivery teams to ensure a cohesive approach to partnership success.
  • Serve as the key liaison between Kooth’s leadership team and California-based partners to ensure clarity, responsiveness, and transparency.

Growth & Sustainability

  • Lead the development of funding and renewal strategies, positioning Soluna for long-term sustainability and growth in California.
  • Identify and advance opportunities for expansion into new counties, systems, or funding pathways.
  • Collaborate with the internal and external stakeholder to influence state-level behavioral health and digital care initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing partnerships and account management team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence across cross-functional teams.
  • Model Kooth’s values and act as a visible senior leader across the organization and external ecosystem.

RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring:
  • 10+ years’ senior level experience leading strategic partnerships, business development, or account management in healthcare, behavioral health, or digital health.
  • Proven success and significant experience in managing high-value, complex partnerships in the public sector including leading state level government affairs, and with managed care organisations and payer/insurance dynamic at scale, — ideally within California and ideally alongside the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of California’s behavioral health and policy landscape, including funding mechanisms, advocacy dynamics, and public-private collaboration.
  • Exceptional strategic planning, program management, and communication skills, able to influence at the most senior levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across product, service delivery, and policy teams.
  • A data-driven and outcomes-oriented approach, with a focus on sustainable growth and measurable impact.
  • Skilled in relationship building, stakeholder influence, and narrative storytelling grounded in evidence and empathy.
  • Willingness to travel across California (up to 40%).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
