About the RoleArchetype AI is seeking a UX / UI Designer to lead and own the end-to-end user experience of our developer console, a critical touchpoint for our customers. You’ll lead features from concept to launch, partnering closely with PMs and engineers to shape requirements, design key flows, and prototype in code. This role will help build consistency and quality across the product, and build feedback loops that keep us close to customers.
This role is ideal for a seasoned product designer who’s has experience designing and shipping product, who’s comfortable leading ambiguous, technically complex work, and balances systems thinking with pixel-level craft.
Core ResponsibilitiesLead features end to end for our developer console, partnering with engineering to identify requirements, key flows, and validate UX direction before handoff.
Build prototypes using AI assisted coding tools to validate
Maintain and improve the quality and consistency of our product surfaces, using our design system and contributing back when gaps surface
Run lightweight research to validate design directions, including user interviews, beta feedback, and synthesis of input from internal teams
Develop and own internal beta testing processes and feedback loops across both features and documentation, so we catch issues before customers do
Communicate design decisions and tradeoffs clearly to PMs, engineers, and leadership with strong rationale and storytelling
Conduct periodic audits of UI to identify inconsistencies, gaps, or opportunities for improvement
5+ years of professional product design experience, with a track record of owning complex features end to end
Strong visual design fundamentals and the craft to apply them
Experience owning projects from start to finish and collaborating across disciplines
Comfort collaborating closely with engineers, including reading code and reasoning about technical constraints
Experience in Enterprise Saas environments and/or developer focused products
Familiarity working in startup environments or as fast-moving in-house teams
Familiarity with front end development principles and design to engineering handoff
