About IBBX:
IBBX Wireless Energy is at the forefront of developing breakthrough technology that delivers wireless electricity. The company has created and patented protocols that allow energy harvesting from electromagnetic waves; IBBX also produces an integrated circuit that executes such harvesting. It is the first real step into eliminating cables and vastly reducing battery sizes in electronic devices.

With a current team of 70 dedicated professionals, IBBX is in a phase of rapid growth, experiencing significant year-over-year expansion. Our culture is grounded in values of efficiency, respect, and diversity, and we are on a mission to attract, develop, and retain world-class talent aligned with our vision of creating impactful and world-changing innovations.

The first adopters of our technology are industries that rely on predictive maintenance of their production parks.

Our first product is the IBBX Retina Suite for industry 4.0, a set of sensors that feed from the machine’s (wasted) electromagnetic energy, and they just work – no cable, no battery replacement. They also happen to speak a proprietary wireless data protocol that is optimized for long distances, ideal for large industrial and agricultural environments. It may seem a bit too techie, we know, but all this is to explain why our Retina Suite has a line of clients waiting to acquire it, an example of how successful we can be in the near future.

Role Overview:

IBBX is seeking Product Designers with extensive experience in modern tools and software, focused on creating design solutions that truly deliver value to the user. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the target audience's needs and behaviors, ensuring that each project is intuitive, functional, and impactful. The Product Designer will work with User Experience, helping us think what the product needs to deliver and how to deliver it, and also work with interface design, aesthetics and usability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Solution Development:

  • Create innovative and functional designs for digital platforms, always focused on the user experience.

  • Interact directly with product managers and software engineers, ensuring designs are implemented accurately and efficiently.

2. User Research and Understanding:

  • Conduct user research to understand their needs, behaviors, and pain points, guiding the design process.

  • Create user personas and journey maps to inform design decisions.

3. Innovation and Creativity:

  • Seek design solutions that are not only functional but also creative and bring real value to users.

  • Balance aesthetics and usability, creating visually appealing and intuitive interfaces.

4. Collaboration and Feedback:

  • Work collaboratively with development teams and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of design solutions.

  • Participate in design reviews and gather feedback to continuously improve solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Significant experience in digital interface design and with modern design tools (such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Deep knowledge of usability, user-centered design, and current design trends.

  • Ability to translate user needs into visually attractive and intuitive design solutions.

  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Creativity and the ability to generate innovative solutions that address real user needs.

Why Join IBBX?

At IBBX, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment where creativity and technology are always evolving. Here, we value design solutions that directly impact the user experience and transform the market. If you're passionate about design and want to work with collaborative teams in a constantly evolving context, IBBX is the ideal place for you!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
