Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a UX Designer to lead designs for Applied's largest product, Applied Epic. Applied Epic is the world's most widely used agency management system, helping make independent insurance agencies in the U.S., Canada, and the UK better manage customer relationships, sales opportunities, data exchange with carriers, financial accounting, reporting, business process, and policy and benefits administration. This UX Designer will be dedicated to conducting primary user research, exploring user requirements, vetting user scenarios, sketching, wireframing, mocking, and prototyping solutions.

What You Will Do
In this position you will:
- Develop a strong understanding of our users' experience through our suite of products, and explore the needs and motivations of our target users
- Coordinate and conduct generative and evaluative user research to
- Recommend the best interaction designs and UX best practices to follow
- help us efficiently validate and iterate
- Assist in exploring and defining new features and enhancements via well-reasoned mockups and prototypes
- Use storytelling skills to articulate the 'why' behind design decisions
- Collaborate with the product and development teams as they implement the design into released product features
- See the results of your work as we measure and report on user engagement and usage
What You Will Need to be Successful
- Remote Opportunity: Ability to work 100% remotely, or from an Applied Systems office
Must Have:
- 1-2 years of experience in UX, preferably in a commercial software environment. We will make exceptions for new UXers who exhibit growth potential.
- Key Skills:
- Proficient in UX Research
- Proficient in creating prototypes using tools such as Figma, Balsamiq, Miro, etc.
Desired Skills but not required:
- Insurance industry or Insurance technology experience
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques - e.g. AI, Machine Learning, etc.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Design, or equivalent work experience.
