Product Organization · UX Design Team

MeridianLink is seeking a talented UX Designer to join our UX Design team within the Product organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex design challenges and is passionate about creating intuitive, delightful digital experiences—particularly in the financial services and lending space.

You will play a key role in designing and optimizing user experiences for online loan and account applications. Your work will directly impact how users interact with our digital products, helping to streamline critical financial workflows while adding moments of delight through thoughtful UI, visual, and interaction design. This role also offers the opportunity to explore and apply emerging AI-powered UX processes that can meaningfully enhance the lending experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively leverage AI-augmented design workflows — including tools such as Claude Code and other emerging platforms to accelerate ideation, prototyping, and design-to-development handoff.

  • Design, prototype, and test user experiences for digital financial products, with a focus on optimizing online loan and bank account applications.

  • Create intuitive, visually engaging, and user-friendly interfaces that align with business goals and user needs.

  • Expert Figma capabilities to create scalable design systems, components, and workflows.

  • Utilize automation and integration tools (such as Make) to improve design efficiency and support design-to-development workflows.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and clients to iterate on and refine design solutions.

  • Present design concepts and decisions to internal stakeholders, clearly articulating and defending design rationale.

  • Participate in grooming and refinement sessions with development teams to ensure high-quality implementation.

  • Review proposed product changes for alignment with UX standards and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years of relevant professional experience (or equivalent practical experience).

  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, design systems, and advanced prototyping.

  • Experience applying user research, stakeholder input, and expert judgment to inform design decisions.

  • Familiarity with AI design and coding tools (e.g., Claude Code), including how to structure prompts and integrate outputs into design workflows.

  • Working knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Make) and how they integrate with design workflows.

  • Proven ability to build productive working relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills within defined procedures and practices.

  • Ability to work independently on moderately complex problems while contributing to larger, more advanced initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • A designer who can simplify complex lending and financial workflows while delivering polished, user-centered solutions.

  • Someone who balances usability, accessibility, and visual excellence.

  • A collaborative partner who thrives in cross-functional environments and advocates for user-centered design.

  • A genuine curiosity about AI and emerging design technologies — someone who enjoys experimenting with new tools, stays ahead of where the industry is heading, and is excited to help shape what AI-assisted design looks like in the lending space.

  • Enthusiasm for the possibilities AI can bring to financial services and a desire to help define the future of UX through innovation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
