About the Role:
Wing is looking for a UTM Solutions Manager to join our UAS Traffic Management team. The position seeks highly-motivated individuals with a passion for aviation, who enjoy working in a dynamic team environment. UTM Solutions Managers ensure our products are customized for, compliant with, and have the necessary regulatory data for Wing’s key markets. Solution Managers frequently support a mix of cross-functional internal customers and stakeholders, and engage with external partners (aviation authorities, data suppliers, industry workings group, and other aviation companies).
The successful candidate has a proven consultative approach to breaking down technical problems into simple solutions, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to drive complex projects with external stakeholders, scale products while keeping quality high. This role is based remotely in the US.
What You’ll Do:
- Facilitate configuration of UTM ecosystems to enable industry to operate in shared airspace
- Customize Wing’s UTM products to ensure digital compliance with evolving regulations and operational approvals. Translate regulatory requirements into what customization is required to ensure the product is compliant, working with Product Managers where this requires development.
- Manage workstreams such as LAANC checkouts and deployments with Flight Operations stakeholders to enable scaling operations and launching of new features and capabilities.
- Identify, acquire and ingest necessary data feeds for commercial UTM integration
- Manage, maintain, and triage requests to configure UTM products to maintain regulatory compliance and business effectiveness
- Manage relationships and engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), and industry participants.
- Participate and contribute to technical workshops, bug reporting, and milestone reporting and validation with internal and external stakeholders; use data and workshop outcomes to propose and implement solutions for commercial scalability.
What You’ll Need:
- 8+ years of work experience delivering complex technical solutions in technical program management, partner management or solutions management
- Extensive experience working with GIS, geospatial data standards and/or aeronautical charts
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with one or more of the following programming/scripting languages: C, C++, Python
- Experience working with or for regulators or state/federal government partners
- Experience with system integration, validation and configuration
- Proven ability to effectively influence and communicate across multiple functions (e.g. Product, Tools, Engineering) and up and down the organization.
