At Underdog, we make sports more fun.

Our thesis is simple: build the best product for sports fans and we will win the space. Founded in 2020, we're one of the fastest-growing sports companies ever, and there’s still so much left to do. We've built and scaled products across fantasy sports, sports betting, and prediction markets, all united in one app that’s seamless, intuitive, and actually fun to use.

Underdog isn’t for everyone. One of our core values is give a sh*t. The people who win here are the ones who care, push, and perform. We’re remote-first by design, but highly collaborative with regular in-person gatherings that help teams build, iterate, and move fast together.

Got that dog in you? Join us.

After all, winning as an Underdog is more fun.

What you'll do:
  • Own strategy, execution, pacing, and optimization across paid social channels.
  • Serve as Underdog's in-house expert on performance social, with deep expertise in Meta's advertising ecosystem and a strong understanding of how to unlock incremental scale on TikTok.
  • Develop and execute a testing roadmap across audience strategy, bidding, campaign structure, creative, and measurement to continuously improve efficiency and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Partner closely with TikTok and Meta account teams to influence product roadmaps, gain early access to beta features, and ensure we're leveraging platform capabilities to their fullest.
  • Translate MMP and backend performance data into clear insights, budget recommendations, and executive-ready reporting.
  • Work closely with Analytics and Data Science to validate attribution, forecast accurately, and optimize toward KPIs.
  • Partner with Creative to develop channel-specific creative strategies, establish a rapid feedback loop, and continuously improve performance through testing and iteration.
  • Monitor competitive advertising, creative trends, platform updates, and emerging consumer behaviors to identify new opportunities for growth.
Who you are:
  • 5+ years of hands-on user acquisition experience with a strong focus on paid social for a consumer app.
  • Deep expertise managing large-scale acquisition programs across Meta, with meaningful experience scaling TikTok. Experience with Snapchat is a plus.
  • Proven track record of unlocking new growth on TikTok through creative experimentation, audience strategy, platform partnerships, and rigorous testing—not simply maintaining existing spend.
  • Strong understanding of Meta's optimization ecosystem, including campaign structure, bidding strategies, audience segmentation, conversion optimization, and creative best practices.
  • Exceptional experience with mobile measurement platforms (Adjust, AppsFlyer, or Singular), including attribution validation and performance analysis.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to synthesize complex performance data into clear recommendations and actionable business insights.
  • Experience partnering closely with Creative teams to inform creative strategy and establish high-velocity testing programs.
  • Demonstrated success designing and owning a structured experimentation roadmap across channels, creative, audiences, and platform capabilities.
  • Experience in gaming, fintech, sports betting, or another high-growth consumer app environment.
  • Comfortable managing and developing team members while maintaining a high bar for execution.
Bonus points if you have:
  • Built or significantly scaled TikTok into a major acquisition channel from an early stage.
  • Experience implementing AI-driven workflows or automation to improve UA efficiency and creative testing.
  • Familiarity with SQL or BI tools (Sigma, Looker, Tableau).

Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $145,000, plus target equity. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, skills and expertise, interview performance, and other market considerations.

What we can offer you:
  • Unlimited PTO for full-time employees (we're extremely flexible with the exception of the first few weeks before and into the NFL season)
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • Home office stipend
  • A virtual-first culture, but we come together a few times per year in person for offsites, trainings, hackathons, and more
  • Slack reactions for every occasion
  • 401k with up to 5% employer match
  • Company paid health, dental, vision plan options for employees and dependents, FSA, and more
  • Opportunity to celebrate your favorite sports teams through local meetups and company-sponsored events
  • Claude and ChatGPT enterprise accounts

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
