About the role

Sporty Group is scaling paid acquisition across its portfolio of Betting, Entertainment, Games and Finance, and we’re looking for a User Acquisition Director to lead our global acquisition team.

This is a senior, high-impact leadership role accountable for driving sustainable user growth through paid channels across every Sporty product and market. You will lead our in-house User Acquisition organization across three core verticals — Mobile, Paid Social, Paid Search & Programmatic — while shaping the systems, processes, experimentation culture, and technology that enable the team to scale.

This role goes far beyond media buying. We’re looking for someone who loves solving complex growth problems: building experimentation frameworks, automating repetitive work, introducing AI into everyday workflows, improving measurement, and constantly challenging how performance marketing should be done.

You’ll operate at both strategic and operational levels — defining long-term acquisition strategy while remaining close enough to the data to challenge assumptions, investigate anomalies, and identify new growth opportunities.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the global User Acquisition strategy - Define the long-term paid acquisition vision across all Sporty products, balancing investment between current and new acquisition channels while aligning with company-wide business priorities.

  • Lead and develop a world-class UA organization - Manage and develop our Performance Marketing Leads across Mobile, Paid Social, and Paid Search & Programmatic, building a culture of ownership, innovation, continuous learning and operational excellence.

  • Drive performance at scale - Own acquisition efficiency, making investment decisions using CPA, LTV, ROAS, incrementality and long-term business value rather than platform metrics alone.

  • Build experimentation into the team’s DNA - Design scalable frameworks for testing creatives, bidding strategies, campaign structures, measurement methodologies, attribution models, optimization techniques and new acquisition channels. Ensure experimentation is rigorous, measurable and consistently translated into operational best practices.

  • Lead automation and AI adoption - Continuously identify opportunities to automate manual workflows across campaign management, reporting, analysis and operations.

  • Solve the hardest growth problems - Own cross-functional initiatives that unlock the next stage of growth, including attribution challenges, measurement improvements, creative operations, campaign automation, workflow optimization and operational scalability.

  • Partner across the business - Work closely with Product, BI, Creative, MarTech, Finance and executive leadership to ensure acquisition strategy supports broader business objectives while influencing roadmap and product decisions through data and customer insights.

  • Build the acquisition engine of the future - Continuously evaluate new platforms, technologies, AI capabilities and emerging industry trends to ensure Sporty remains at the forefront of performance marketing innovation.

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years of experience in Performance Marketing or User Acquisition, including leadership of large-scale paid acquisition programs.

  • Proven experience leading multi-channel acquisition across Mobile, PPC, Paid Social and Programmatic.

  • Experience managing and developing high-performing teams and other people leaders.

  • Deep understanding of attribution, incrementality, experimentation, bidding systems, measurement and LTV-based optimization.

  • Strong commercial mindset with experience managing significant acquisition budgets.

  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into business decisions.

  • Experience building scalable marketing processes, operational frameworks and automation.

  • Comfortable operating between executive strategy and hands-on problem solving.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Fluency in English.

Even better if

  • Experience across both web and app acquisition.

  • Experience working in gaming, betting, fintech or other high-growth digital businesses.

  • Experience introducing automation or AI into marketing operations.

  • Experience building internal marketing technology or working closely with engineering teams.

  • Experience working across multiple international markets.

Tech Stack

  • Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, Mobile DSPs, Moloco, Liftoff, Programmatic platforms, etc.

  • AppsFlyer / Adjust / Singular / Kochava

  • Google Analytics 4

  • BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, Power BI)

  • AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, AI agents and workflow automation platforms)

If you're interested, we encourage you to apply! Every application is reviewed by a member of our team (AI is not used in our recruitment process), and we aim to respond within 48 hours.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
