USED VEHICLE ACQUISITION SPECIALIST

O’GARA Beverly Hills, one of the world's foremost destinations for exotic, ultra-luxury, and collectible automobiles, is seeking an elite Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our Pre-Owned Operations team. This is a high-performance, high-visibility role suited for a seasoned acquisition professional with deep roots in the ultra-luxury automotive market.

Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is responsible for aggressively sourcing, evaluating, and securing pre-owned exotic and ultra-luxury vehicles to grow O’GARA's inventory, maximize profitability, and support the dealership's position as the benchmark for the segment. This individual will operate with urgency, precision, and discretion — consistently identifying and closing acquisition opportunities across all channels.

This role Specialist is expected to consistently meet or exceed monthly acquisition volume and profitability targets, maintain inventory turn objectives, and contribute to a department culture defined by accountability, precision, and excellence. Performance will be reviewed on a regular basis against key metrics, including units acquired, gross profit per unit, inventory aging, and documentation accuracy.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum two (2) years of verifiable experience in ultra-luxury or exotic vehicle acquisitions at a franchised dealership, independent operation, or auction platform — experience must be directly in the acquisition and purchasing function, not general sales.
  • Demonstrable, verifiable network of contacts within the acquisition space, including private sellers, collectors, wholesalers, auction representatives, fleet operators, and dealer partners.
  • Proven track record of sourcing and closing high-value vehicle transactions; must be prepared to provide references upon request.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a California Sales License.
  • Advanced proficiency in vehicle valuation tools including KBB Instant Cash Offer, Manheim Market Report, Black Book, and NADA Guides.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess vehicle condition, provenance, service history, and market desirability across exotic and ultra-luxury marques including but not limited to Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Mercedes-AMG.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and commitment to meticulous, audit-ready record keeping across all acquisition transactions.
  • Ability to operate independently at a high level and fast pace while contributing effectively within a collaborative team structure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills commensurate with representing a world-class brand to high-net-worth clientele.
  • Experience with Tekion DMS is strongly preferred; familiarity with DealerSocket CRM is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Proactively source pre-owned exotic and ultra-luxury vehicles through all available channels including private party, service drive conquest, dealer trades, wholesale networks, auction platforms (Manheim, Barrett-Jackson, RM Sotheby's, etc.), fleet operators, and inbound inquiries.
  • Leverage and continuously expand a personal network of collectors, brokers, enthusiasts, and industry contacts to generate a consistent pipeline of acquisition opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle evaluations including physical inspection, condition assessment, market value analysis, and profitability modeling prior to any purchase commitment.
  • Execute all vehicle purchases using in-house and remote technology platforms, ensuring speed and accuracy in a competitive market.
  • Negotiate acquisition prices that align with dealership profitability targets while maintaining strong relationships with sellers and partners.
  • Utilize KBB Instant Cash Offer and other valuation tools to make informed, data-driven purchase decisions at the service drive and via remote channels.
  • Contribute directly to departmental goals for inventory growth, sales volume, and profitability targets established by the Used Car Manager and senior leadership.
  • Maintain real-time awareness of current inventory levels, aging units, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform acquisition strategy.
  • Coordinate with reconditioning, service, and detail departments to assess and plan the pre-sale preparation of acquired vehicles.
  • Participate in and execute dealer trades as required; responsible for all associated paperwork and for inspecting both outgoing and incoming units for condition and completeness.
  • Partner with the sales team to ensure acquired inventory is positioned, priced, and merchandised to maximize retail velocity.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation on all acquisition transactions, including purchase agreements, condition reports, title paperwork, lien releases, and odometer disclosures.
  • Ensure all acquisition activity is conducted in full compliance with California DMV regulations, dealer licensing requirements, and O’GARA internal policies.
  • Enter and maintain all vehicle acquisition data accurately within the dealership's DMS (Tekion) and CRM platforms in real time.
  • Provide management with regular reporting on acquisition pipeline activity, closed purchases, market intelligence, and performance metrics.
  • Conduct all interactions with sellers, partners, and clients at a level of professionalism consistent with the O’GARA brand standard.
  • Build and steward long-term relationships that generate repeat acquisition opportunities and referrals.
  • Represent O’GARA Beverly Hills at industry events, auctions, and collector gatherings as appropriate to expand the dealership's acquisition network.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support the effective retailing of acquired inventory including vehicle knowledge transfer, feature demonstrations, and documentation support.
  • Maintain deep and current knowledge of all exotic and ultra-luxury marques sold by O’GARA, including model specifications, production history, options, collectability factors, and competitive positioning.
  • Stay current on market trends, valuations, and regulatory developments affecting the pre-owned exotic vehicle segment.
  • Participate in training, process improvement initiatives, and team meetings as directed by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
