Yondr’s business segments span numerous industries, primarily across education and live events. Yondr supports schools through cell phone-free programs. Our education programs facilitate the successful implementation of phone-free school environments by providing administrators and teachers with education, training, and development resources, along with all necessary equipment. In addition, Yondr supports top artists in music and comedy by creating phone-free shows, allowing performers and audience members to enjoy live performances without the distraction of phones.
Yondr’s U.S. Director of Public Affairs will work closely with executive leadership to advance its policy priorities on phone-free school legislation.The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of public affairs and an interest in the global discussions surrounding phone-free school legislation. This role requires extensive cross-group collaboration along with exceptional strategic planning, critical thinking, communication, partnership and brokering skills.
Key Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and implementing legislative strategy, tactics, and content in support of company goals

Responsibilities include identifying and influencing proposed legislation

Create, strengthen, and expand relationships with key stakeholders in government who are involved in legislation relevant to the company

Coordinate closely with advocacy and policy partners to align initiatives to government affairs objectives and monitor real time political and policy proceedings

Supports implementation of operational improvements and processes to promote an integrated approach to advancing and achieving public affairs goals

Utilize a myriad of offline and online tactics to reach and inform key stakeholders

Support executive team with external consultants’ activities and engagement initiatives

Works closely with leadership to manage budgets, contracts, and reporting
Required skills and qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
-
Between 5-10 years of experience in Legislative Affairs or working in Government
-
Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
-
Develop and deliver persuasive messaging to engage with policymakers and education stakeholders to support company goals.

Ability to influence policy through strategic communications and advocacy efforts.

Excellent knowledge of legislative policy issues.

Expertise in lobbying, negotiating, and building strategic partnerships with policymakers and advocacy groups.

Strong managerial skills, including expertise in communication, strategic planning, negotiation, adaptability, collaboration, and crisis management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
