OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Manager, Group Underwriting, the Underwriting Associate plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive administrative and underwriting support to the department. This position requires adherence to established policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the efficient processing of underwriting tasks and the seamless operation of the department. The Underwriting Associate is responsible for assisting in the evaluation of risk, gathering necessary information, preparing documentation, and facilitating communication across various teams, all while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Data entry and file preparation for the Group Underwriting team.

  • Review new business enrollments for health, dental, life, and income replacement benefits to confirm alignment with original quotations.

  • Review administrative requests.

  • Assist the group underwriters with renewals, revisions, reporting, and quotations as needed.

  • Coordinate file assignments within the team.

  • Support additional duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make confident decisions.
