Position Summary

An Underwriting Assistant plays a vital role being the front line of our service center team charged with delivering top tier customer service to our valued agency partners.  An Underwriting Assistant applies their insurance knowledge to handle endorsement requests, process renewals, and work closely with out agents to answer general inquiries about our insured's policies. What makes this position unique from other typical underwriting assistant roles is the structured upward mobility potential, being able to work autonomously, and the opportunity for individuals to have an impactful voice to adjust the roles approach to meet the changing demands of the market place and technological advancements to provide great customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly responding to a high volume of rush and quote for endorsement requests.
  • Review, underwrite, and approve endorsement request such as adding additional drivers, swapping scheduled items, address changes and process conditional non-renewals or notices of cancellations.
  • Ownership to co-manage and prioritize individual and team’s responsibilities to meet time service standards and customer needs. 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial multi-line underwriting exposure.
  • Skillful knowledge of standard lines coverages and the lines of business that we offer.
  • Working understanding of the nuances of the classes of businesses we insure.
  • Clear, concise, and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable in the Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Able to work autonomously, be self-motivated, collaborative, and effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Coverall 2015 and ImageRight preferred, but not mandatory.
