About Archive

Join Archive in our mission to change consumer shopping behavior for the better. If you think humans buy too much stuff and throw too much away, then this problem is for you. As the leading technology platform for branded resale, we now power circular businesses for 50+ brands globally including Lululemon, The North Face and New Balance.

We are growing our team of highly motivated, forward-thinking individuals to help build the most delightful user experience for shopping used items, and the software to help brands make this a significant part of their business. If this mission speaks to you, come join us as we grow our share of the booming second hand market—projected to grow 3X faster than the overall global apparel market and to hit $350 Billion globally by 2028.

About this role

Archive is looking for a highly detail-oriented Visual / UI Designer to help bring branded resale experiences to life for some of the world’s most iconic fashion and ecommerce brands. In this role, you’ll work directly with brand partners to design beautifully customized marketplace UIs that leverage Archive’s core design system while still reflecting each brand’s unique visual identity. You’ll collaborate closely with our Head of Design, UX and Product Design Leads, Engineering, and cross-functional partners to take designs from concept through launch — and ensure they’re executed with precision.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for someone who loves pixel-perfect design, thrives on iteration and feedback, and is excited to work across a wide range of visual styles. You’ll also support sales and strategy efforts by creating mockups and exploratory concepts for future partners, helping shape how resale looks and feels across the Archive ecosystem. If you’re mission-driven and excited about reducing waste through thoughtful design, this role offers a unique opportunity to make a visible impact.

What you'll do
  • Design visually customized, branded marketplace UIs using Archive’s design system

  • Create mockups and concepts to support sales and strategy initiatives

  • Participate in design reviews with brand creative teams and incorporate feedback

  • Partner with Engineering to ensure accurate implementation of designs

  • Lead QA for brand sites to ensure visual and functional integrity

  • Maintain and evolve design systems, style guides, and UI standards

  • Contribute to branding and creative projects across Marketing and Sales

  • Surface UX and product feature requests and apply visuals to new features

What we are looking for
  • 2+ years of experience in a design firm, agency, or consumer product company

  • Strong portfolio showcasing web and visual/graphic design work

  • Experience designing responsive web applications (mobile and desktop)

  • High attention to detail with a passion for pixel-perfect UI design

  • Comfort presenting work and advocating for design decisions

  • Strong collaboration skills and openness to feedback and iteration

  • Passion for accessible, inclusive design

  • Ability to work remotely (if not based in NYC)

  • Bonus: Experience with ecommerce or retail brands

Our team of over 50 employees is currently remote-first, with an office in NYC and optional in-person work for those located in the area. We have company offsites twice a year to bring the full team together in person, and occasional travel is expected as part of the job.

Archive is a Series B company backed by lauded investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Energize Capital, and Bain Capital Ventures. We prize an inclusive and transparent culture, and remain true to our values in everything we do. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
