About Scrunch

Scrunch is the leading Enterprise platform for LLM brand visibility and content delivery, working with Fortune 500 brands across industry verticals. We value impact, collaboration, and ownership. We’re looking for an A-Player—someone who thrives when given high autonomy and is driven to make measurable contributions immediately. For us, the best idea wins, no matter where it comes from.

What You'll Be Building

This role is mission-critical because you will own the design evolution of our product's core offering: the Scrunch Application. This requires more than just good design—it requires translating complex, data-heavy insights into intuitive, conversion-driving interfaces that are the centerpiece of what we sell. You’ll work directly with the Product and Engineering to execute against these goals.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

As Scrunch’s first full-time designer, you must be ready to lead projects from concept to polish. You will:

  • Design High-Impact Interfaces: Craft engaging, pixel-perfect UIs for our dashboard and related features, mastering the unique challenges of data visualization in Figma.

  • Drive Measurable Results: Combine creative execution with a focus on usability that actively moves users toward key actions and goals.

  • Collaborate to Execute: Partner closely with Engineering, taking direction and concepts, and running with them to deliver production-ready designs efficiently.

  • Build Scalable Foundations: Contribute to evolving our design system to ensure consistency and performance across the product.

  • Manage Composure: Juggle multiple design cycles and deadlines with focus, flexibility, and composure in our fast-moving environment.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ Years Experience: Proven professional experience demonstrating expertise in digital product design.

  • Figma Mastery: Expert proficiency in Figma is non-negotiable.

  • Data Design Focus: A strong portfolio showcasing the ability to simplify and visualize complex data sets into clear, compelling user experiences.

  • Execution Mindset: A clear track record of taking direction/ideas and transforming them into finished, high-quality output.

  • Startup Readiness: Demonstrated ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment while driving focused execution.

  • Bonus Points: Experience or familiarity with front-end code (React, HTML, CSS) to facilitate stronger collaboration with Engineering.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
