We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Social Manager to join our growing Games Social team, leading strategy with a particular focus on multi-title brand moments, tentpole game campaigns, and major studio partnerships.

At Netflix, Social Managers not only understand social marketing and the digital landscape but also the unique Netflix social ecosystem and find the most effective way to translate our business strategies across that ecosystem. They must work well cross-functionally to build and execute specific social campaigns - fueling conversation and awareness across our entire slate of offerings. This role is focused on developing strategy that excites audiences from casual players to dedicated gamers, and positioning Netflix as a player in the gaming space.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Setting the high-level social vision and strategic roadmap for Games in UCAN

  • Serving as a subject matter expert in gaming and social

  • Operating as a thought partner across Marcomms, Games, Product, and other internal orgs.

You will lead the social strategy for large, complex cross-functional initiatives – from events like GDC to multi-IP game partnerships -  ensuring our games social approach is cohesive and connected to the broader Games vision and Netflix brand.

The ideal candidate possesses deep background in social media and entertainment, strong editorial judgement, leadership experience, and the ability to balance business objectives with audience engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and own the social strategy for Netflix Games, ensuring it ladders up to the global Games creative vision and Netflix brand and business objectives while defining clear, player‑centric positioning that spans casual players, dedicated gamers, and franchise fans.

  • Create the strategic framework for how game campaigns can leverage Netflix’s social ecosystem (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Discord, Reddit, etc.) to build awareness, engagement, and fandom around Games, translating that positioning into differentiated, platform‑native experiences.

  • Oversee the full suite of social content for assigned high-priority titles and multi-title beats, ensuring consistency and quality from announcement through launch and sustain.

  • Partner closely with Title Marketing, Publicity, Comms, Integrated Marketing, Product, and Studio teams to ensure social plays a central, defined role in key brand moments for Games.

  • Partner with Games Title Social Managers to ensure their individual campaign plans map to the broader UCAN and global Games strategy, providing high-level guidance and support.

  • Act as a senior point of contact for games studio partners, publishers, and key external collaborators, helping manage relationships and support expectations as well as translating partner needs and IP sensitivities into clear, actionable social plans.

  • Set or inform social KPIs for major Games campaigns, and provide guidance to regional and global partners on what success looks like on social for Games.

Background and Specific Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in social media and digital marketing, with significant time spent in gaming or gaming-adjacent roles.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large, multi-platform, cross-functional campaigns that span:

    • Multiple social channels

    • Multiple titles or IPs

    • Multiple internal and external stakeholders (publishers, studios, creators, talent, agencies).

  • Operates comfortably at the Senior Manager level: setting direction, defining frameworks, and factoring team and division strategy into all major decisions.

  • Able to toggle seamlessly between high-level vision and detailed execution, guiding managers and partners without micromanaging.

  • Proven track record as a subject matter expert in social strategy and platform best practices, games marketing and player communities, and translating marketing and business goals into social-native ideas.

  • Deep knowledge of what works across social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X/Twitter, Discord, Reddit, etc.) and how to tailor creative for each.

  • Strong creative instincts with the ability to give clear, actionable feedback on social-first concepts, scripts, and edits.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders, studios, and executives.

  • Able to build strong relationships across internal teams and external partners, with a high degree of diplomacy and clarity.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
