The U.S. Safety Manager is responsible for leading the consistent implementation, oversight, and effectiveness of Convergint’s safety programs across assigned U.S. regions and CTCs. This role provides national governance, coaching, and oversight for safety execution across U.S. regions and CTCs, ensuring alignment with global safety standards and regulatory requirements. This role is also responsible for managing operational risk within a tiered safety support model that emphasizes dedicated field safety execution at the CTC level. Rather than serving as the primary day-to-day safety executor, the U.S. Safety Manager ensures that CTC-level safety resources are properly aligned, effective, and operating in accordance with global safety standards and ISO-aligned safety management system principles. The U.S. Safety Manager plays a key role in shifting the organization from reactive incident response to proactive risk management by strengthening accountability, improving visibility, and reinforcing leadership ownership of safety.

Job Responsibilities:

1.       Leads the consistent implementation of Convergint’s safety programs across assigned U.S. regions and CTCs.

2.       Provides oversight and support to tiered CTC safety resources.

3.       Partners with operations leaders to integrate safety into daily operations and decision-making.

4.       Assesses the effectiveness and quality of execution at the CTC level, focusing on outcomes, risk reduction, and behaviour changes – not activity alone.

5.       Monitors operational safety risk as well as leading and lagging indicators to identify trends, systemic risks, and opportunities for proactive intervention.

6.       Participates in incident investigations, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and analyzes safety performance data and trends.

7.       Ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations.

8.       Supports ISO aligned safety management practices.

9.       Provides functional leadership, coaching, and performance oversight to CTC-based Safety Coordinators through a dotted-line reporting relationship

10.   Supports the development and continuous improvement of Safety Coordinators through training, guidance, and best-practice sharing.

11.   Serves as the primary U.S. safety subject matter and strategic partner to the Director of Global Safety

12.   Supports customer safety requirements

13.   Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Job Skills Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of operational risk management in field-based, multi-site environments.
  • Working knowledge of occupational safety and health principles and regulatory frameworks.
  • Understanding of ISO 45001-aligned safety management system concepts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities across geographically dispersed operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and safety reporting systems.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
