Job Summary

Reporting to a General Counsel, this role is responsible for supporting the business on a broad range of commercial and technology-focused legal matters, with a primary focus on drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. The role will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to enable business objectives while managing legal and commercial risk.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, and partner contracts
  • Provide legal support on technology-focused transactions, particularly within hardware and semiconductor-related contexts
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Support negotiations of agreements governed by US law and international frameworks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, procurement, finance, and engineering
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of standard contract templates and processes
  • Provide guidance on intellectual property and licensing considerations within commercial agreements
  • Assist with open source software licensing matters where relevant
  • Manage multiple transactions simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business priorities
  • Support broader corporate and legal initiatives as required
Candidate ProfileEssential:
  • Qualified lawyer in a relevant jurisdiction with strong commercial legal training
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a technology-focused environment
  • Experience working with agreements governed by the laws of multiple jurisdictions, primarily California and Texas, but also including the laws of England and Wales
  • Strong understanding of contract law and risk allocation principles
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, international environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Desirable
  • Experience within the semiconductor or hardware industry
  • In-house legal experience within a technology company
  • Familiarity with intellectual property licensing
  • Exposure to open source software licensing
  • Experience working across UK and US legal framework
