About This Role:

This is a full-time contractor role that includes 4 hours of weekend work. The Transaction Monitoring (“TM“) Analyst is part of the Transaction Monitoring Compliance team and reports to our TM Lead. As TM Analyst, you will bring experience with using blockchain monitoring tools, and will be responsible for completing investigations on transactions primarily conducted in cryptocurrency, working with cross-functional partners on escalations, and completing required transaction reporting. As TM Analyst you will partner with our KYC, Sanctions, Risk, and CX teams, to support Binance.US’s unwavering commitment to our BSA/AML Compliance program and obligations.

Responsibilities :

  • Review and analyze customer and transaction alerts, accounts, and users to identify potential suspicious or fraudulent activity

  • Identify patterns and trends consistent with money laundering and terrorist financing

  • Document and report investigation findings and prepare case files with required supporting documentation

  • Escalate alerts and draft case investigations in accordance with internal policies and procedures

  • Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and document No-File rationales

  • Stay up-to-date with the current regulatory landscape and compliance requirements of cryptocurrency industry; with emphasis on applicable BSA/AML requirements for detection of potentially suspicious activity

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the transaction monitoring, investigations, onboarding experience, account review, and sanctions screenings policies and procedures

  • Prepare Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports and other analytic reports as necessary

  • Draft and update internal procedures/working guides in accordance with BSA/AML regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Cryptocurrency-based AML investigations

  • Experience with blockchain analytics software such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, Ciphertrace, and/or TRM

  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, people and analytical skills

  • Ability to adapt to immediate changes is a must

  • Positive and proactive attitude

  • Knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC regulations and FinCEN guidelines a must

  • Crypto knowledge is a plus

  • ACAMS and/or Cryptocurrency-specific certifications a plus

Salary:

The pay for this role is USD$40 per hour for all U.S. remote locations.
