WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

At ALO, we believe learning is essential to growth—for individuals and the collective. We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Training & Development Specialist to lead the delivery, development, and continuous improvement of learning experiences across the organization.

This role is ideal for professionals with deep facilitation expertise, a passion for helping others grow, and a creative, collaborative mindset. You’ll serve as the face of learning at ALO—facilitating high-impact sessions, co-creating content, and helping shape a culture rooted in development, aligned to our Olympian Mindset and Guiding Principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging, inclusive, and high-impact learning sessions across corporate, warehouse, and retail teams
  • Serve as the lead facilitator for onboarding, employee development, and team workshops
  • Use learner feedback and post-training surveys to assess effectiveness and guide improvements
  • Partner with the Talent Development team to co-create and refine learning content (decks, handouts, toolkits, scripts, job aids, LMS modules) based on audience needs and feedback
  • Translate business needs into impactful learning solutions using adult learning best practices
  • Deliver content effectively across multiple formats (in-person, virtual, and asynchronous)
  • Manage delivery schedules, materials, and participant communications
  • Support the development of facilitator guides and toolkits to scale learning across leaders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (People, HR, Retail, Operations) to ensure alignment with org-wide initiatives
  • Model ALO’s culture in all learning environments—fostering trust, inclusion, and ownership
  • Reinforce key messages and tools to help embed learning into daily workflows
  • Flex into evolving Talent Development priorities as needed, offering support across team-wide initiatives and cross-functional projects that enhance the overall employee learning experience at ALO

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in facilitation, coaching, or adult learning in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Proven ability to engage diverse learners and foster inclusive, high-energy learning environments
  • Strong grounding in adult learning theory, instructional techniques, and experiential facilitation
  • Experience in a leadership, coaching, or mentoring capacity
  • Confident and inspiring facilitator with the ability to manage energy, encourage participation, and promote psychological safety
  • Proficient in digital tools that support learning (e.g., PowerPoint, Zoom, LMS platforms)
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with change, fast-paced environments, and highly collaborative, creative work

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
