Job Family Definition:

Based on identified training needs in the company business segments/global functions, designs and develops sales, technical or leadership/management training materials, including both traditional and media-based deliverables. Works with project teams to assess, design, develop, evaluate and/or acquire content, and assist with the delivery readiness of sales, leadership/management and/or technical training programs. Audiences may include company employees, partners, or customers. Tests and refines course content by delivering pilot training to sample participants; also delivers train-the-trainer programs.

Management Level Definition:

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

In a typical day as a Training Development Specialist, you would...

  • Develop impactful and timely learning solutions, by meeting or exceeding training readiness dates.

  • Build course design plans for content development aligning the HPE Service support strategy.

  • Deliver train-the-trainer sessions, produce videos and written documentation of content changes, and timely communicate content updates to stakeholders.

  • Drive the quality of the developed content to meet or exceed learner satisfaction metrics.

  • Ensure that measures are aligned to learning objectives, implement innovative instructional design techniques, and increase interactivity within courses. 

  • Expand competency in eLearning, Instructor Led Training, multimedia authoring, and editing tools.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree; advanced university degree preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Typically 3-5 years in a training development role.

  • Typically 4-6 years experience, including the management of moderate to large projects.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to understand complex tools, technologies, and systems

  • Familiar with HPE GreenLake platform and Storage Cloud Data Services

  • Fluent with English (writing and speaking)

  • Strong facilitation, presentation, content design, and consulting skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, change management, relationship management, and project management skills

  • Able to work in global environment with team members across the world

  • Proficient in content development software (for example, MS PowerPoint, React/Typescript/HTML/CSS)

  • Familiarity/experience with below will be plus:
    - HPE Brand compliance
    - Technical writing skills
    - Support experience with other HPE products
    - Video editing skills

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand new, complex tools, technologies, and systems.
