Traffic Director – Lucas Museum of Narrative Art – Exposition Park
Los Angeles, CA | Full-time / Part-time | $18.42 per hour
About the Museum
Opening September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is the first museum dedicated to visual storytelling. Located in Exposition Park, we're looking for Traffic Directors to ensure every guest arrives safely and navigates our site with ease — creating a great first and last impression from the curb to the galleries.
Our Culture
We believe great service starts with great people. Our team thrives on taking pride in their work, staying calm when things get busy, showing up because the team counts on them, and supporting each other.
We invest in our people and treat every role as essential.
The Position
You are the backbone of event-day safety. Whether it’s a USC game, a concert at BMO Stadium, or a major museum opening, you are responsible for coordinating the safe movement of both vehicles and pedestrians. You control crosswalks, manage entry and exit queues, and ensure emergency routes stay clear.
You’re not just waving a wand—you are the critical link between chaotic arrivals and smooth, injury-free departures. Your constant vigilance and professional communication directly protect guests, staff, and property.
What You’ll Do
Traffic & Pedestrian Control:
-
Direct vehicles and pedestrians at crosswalks, entrances, exits, and internal roadways using approved hand signals, wands, and two‑way radios
-
Manage vehicle queues, temporary holds, lane merges, and overflow routing to prevent gridlock during event rushes
-
Rotate between vehicle‑control posts and pedestrian zones as operational needs shift during your shift
Safety & Compliance:
-
Keep fire lanes, emergency access routes, and accessible pathways clear at all times; immediately report any blockages or hazards
-
Wear required high‑visibility PPE and follow Everpark’s heat illness, weather, and injury‑prevention procedures while working outdoors in sun, rain, wind, or cold
-
Stay continuously alert to changing conditions—scanning for conflicts, obstructions, and unsafe behavior
Incident Response & Guest Service:
-
Provide clear, courteous wayfinding and parking information to guests without making unauthorized promises
-
Stay calm and professional during conflicts; use respectful de‑escalation and call for supervisor/security backup when needed
-
Immediately report collisions, injuries, near misses, or property damage, and complete accurate incident reports before the end of your shift
