Job Description

Job Summary

The Total Loss Specialist I will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing and processing required functions in accordance to Total Loss and Insurance Repair requirements and timelines.  The Total Loss Specialist 1 will processes Total Loss and Insurance Repair accounts and their functions in accordance to regulations, policies, procedures, service levels and quality requirements with responsibilities including, but not limited to, reviewing accounts identified as potential Total Loss or Insurance Repair, performing appropriate calculations for Total Loss and Insurance Repair funds, processing accounts into and closing Total Loss or Insurance Repair as well as reviewing and processing accounts appropriately based on verbal and written notifications of Total Loss or Insurance Repair.  Communication requirements of a Total Loss Specialist 1 would include the capability to handle high volume calls which would consist of internal customers, external customers and vendors requiring support related to customer handling and the Insurance Claim process.

Job Duties

  • Handle and process assigned volume within Total Loss and Insurance Repair processes for appropriate handling within established SLA, policy and procedures
  • Service Potential and Actual Total Loss and Insurance Repair calls within established call handling and correspondence requirements
  • Complete end to end Total Loss and Insurance Repair functions with accuracy and in compliance with regulations, policy and procedure
  • Assist other departments as well as Total Loss and Insurance Repair vendors as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in servicing center environment
  • Experience within auto finance industry preferred
  • Aptitude to evaluate and assess information and demonstrate sound business decision making ability
  • Basic math skills required to calculate overall company cost benefit analysis including Insurance claims
  • Detail oriented with a keen focus on accuracy and all aspects surrounding Loss Mitigation
  • Ability to work in a production, goal, and quality based environment
  • Experience in Total Loss and/or Insurance Repair processes preferred
  • Knowledge of Total Loss, Insurance Repair and/or Insurance regulations, requirements and structure preferred
  • General knowledge of collections policies and procedures and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Established verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Adaptable to changes within a face paced environment
