Job Responsibilities:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending.
EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:
Some of the equipment and tools used are computer, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, and a projector.
KNOWLEDGE:
  • General knowledge of troubleshooting, materials and methods, machines and tools, and practical application of tooling

  • Sound understanding and knowledge of die work/operations

  • Sound understanding and machine knowledge, able to run all tool room equipment including measuring instruments

  • Sound understanding and knowledge of Press and Assembly Operations and Quality procedures

  • Must be able to provide own tools

  • Must have basic knowledge of drafting (blueprint reading, dimension drawings, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge in automation

  • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred

EDUCATION:
  • High School diploma or GED

  • Post-secondary education preferred in tool and die

TECHNICAL TRAINING:
Minimum of two years on-the-job training with heavy industrial manufacturing experience in skilled trade capacity
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in tool and die capacity
ADDITIONAL SKILLS OR ABILITIES WOULD BE HELPFUL FOR THE JOB:
Journeyman Certification is a plus
AREAS OF TRAINING REQUIRED:
New Hire Training, Employee Charter Training, Safety Training
TEAM MEMBER'S JOB PROGRESS BE MONITORED FOR COMPETENCY BY:
Performance Assessment conducted by Supervisor and/or Department Manager.
POSITION RELEVANCE TO ACHIEVING QUALITY OBJECTIVES:
