Titmouse may be able to provide an artistic mentorship to promising new talent interested in storyboarding in animation. Mentees will be given practice assignments with professional materials and mentored by working professionals to create industry standard work for their portfolio. Mentees will not be creating any work for live productions. Mentorship opportunities are dependent on the schedule and availability of mentors at Titmouse.


Format: In-Person/Hybrid (Burbank, Hollywood, and NY)

Timeline: June 16th - August 22nd, 2025

Reporting to: Head of Artistic Recruitment


This is an unpaid, voluntary mentorship program. You do not need to be enrolled in school to apply.


Mentees are expected to come into the office 1 - 2 days a week, depending on the availability of the mentor. The program is a maximum of 216 hours over the course of 10 weeks.


Deadline to Apply: April 7th, 2025 (11:59pm PT )

REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiar with the animation process (either through school, personal projects or previous experience).
  • Show an interest in the following career track: storyboarding.
  • Must not currently be working full-time in the animation industry. This program is designed for artists looking to break into the animation industry.
  • Must be able to commit to coming into the office at least 1 - 2 full days a week.

THE EXPERIENCE

  • Mentees will receive practice art assignments using professional materials and prompts on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
  • Practice art assignments will be reviewed and critiqued by artists, directors and/or supervisors to learn what areas need to be improved.
  • Mentees will have the opportunity to shadow meetings of live productions to see how creative leadership reviews work.
  • One on one meetings with various Titmouse employees to ask industry questions and build a network.
  • Weekly panels, chats, or workshops with Titmouse employees.
