The Title Examiner position will provide our new hire with the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day bustle of a prestigious legal group’s Title Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine title reports provided by third party search vendors for mortgage foreclosure transactions
- Identify necessary Defendants to a judicial mortgage foreclosure action
- Identify parties required to receive notice of a non-judicial foreclosure action
- Identify superior interests, title defects and title curative issues
- Utilize online search portals for in-house tax and title searches
- Ability to use online tools to plot metes and bounds legal descriptions
- Knowledge of using online websites to obtain aerial views of the subject property
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of title examination experience is required – preferably in the mortgage foreclosure arena
- Superior organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and efficiency
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using PDF applications such as Adobe Acrobat and eCopy to markup title reports
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience performing paperless title examinations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multi-state examination experience, preferably in some or all of the following states: CA, DE, GA, KY, IL, MD, NC, OH, SC, TN, TX, MI and VA
