Pay Range - $80,000–$100,000 annual base salary, plus uncapped commission.


Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing accounts through regular communication, on‑site visits, and proactive relationship development.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and key performance metrics.
  • Conduct customer needs assessments, quarterly business reviews, and market analysis to support strategic account planning.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and product information to customers and prospective clients.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and maintain a structured sales pipeline using CRM tools to support revenue planning and leadership reporting.
  • Analyze sales data using Excel and other reporting tools to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, and Leadership, to ensure customer requirements are met and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitive activity, and product capabilities.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the medical device industry or a related regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with consultative selling or solution‑based sales approaches.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis, and experience using CRM systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in metals, aerospace, or other precision manufacturing industries.
  • Experience working in or selling into technical or manufacturing environments involving detailed technical specifications.
  • Experience selling into regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, or defense.
  • Experience with sales forecasting, sales analytics, and data‑driven decision making.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated success in territory management, account growth, and new business development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence customer decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in fully remote work environment.
  • Ability to report to the San Diego office/headquarters at least twice per year, or as business needs require.

Work environment

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment, with periodic visits to the manufacturing floor.
  • Minimal exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, and electrolytes.
  • Professional environment requiring business casual attire.
  • Overnight domestic travel throughout the Midwest region is required, up to approximately 50 percent of the time.
