Mallory Safety & Supply is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Territory Manager to join our growing sales team and support our continued growth in Southern California!

For more than 40 years, Mallory Safety & Supply has helped industrial organizations protect their people and improve their operations through best-in-class safety products, services, and expertise. Our continued growth has made us one of the largest independently owned safety distributors in the country, with 40 locations and more than 600 employees nationwide.

We're proud to be a private, family-owned company where relationships matter, great ideas are encouraged, and our employees have the opportunity to make a real impact.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join Mallory's sales team in a growth-driven Territory Manager position focused on the South Los Angeles market and surrounding areas. The position will be anchored to our Carson branch, which will provide local support and resources, but this is primarily a field-based sales role with regular travel throughout the assigned territory.

You'll step into a territory with existing customer relationships while also having significant opportunity to develop new business and expand Mallory's presence throughout the market. We're looking for someone who enjoys getting out in front of customers, building relationships, identifying opportunities, and developing a territory they can truly take ownership of.

The right person will bring an entrepreneurial mindset to the role. You'll have the freedom to manage your territory like your own business: developing a strategy, pursuing new opportunities, strengthening existing accounts, and finding creative ways to bring additional value to customers. Rather than waiting for opportunities to come to you, you'll be motivated to get into the market, open doors, and create them.

You'll have the independence to build your business while still having the resources, expertise, supplier relationships, and support of Mallory's Carson branch and broader organization behind you.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers throughout the assigned South Los Angeles territory
  • Prospect and establish relationships with new customers to expand Mallory's presence in the market
  • Develop a strategic sales plan and independently manage customer visits, prospecting, follow-up, and account development
  • Learn each customer's operation, challenges, and safety needs to identify opportunities and recommend products, services, and solutions
  • Build relationships with decision-makers at multiple levels within customer organizations
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations tailored to customer needs and opportunities
  • Partner with Mallory's product specialists, service teams, supplier partners, and Carson branch employees to develop comprehensive customer solutions
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts across Mallory's products, services, and capabilities
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, pricing, products, and industry trends throughout the territory
  • Resolve customer questions and concerns by coordinating with internal teams and following issues through to resolution
  • Maintain accurate sales activity, opportunity, and territory information and provide reporting as needed
  • Continue developing product and industry knowledge through supplier partnerships, training, and professional development
  • Manage and support Onsite Associates assigned to customer locations within the territory, as applicable
  • Contribute to the overall success of the sales team and organization as Mallory continues to grow

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of sales, account management, or business development experience
  • Safety and/or industrial distribution experience highly preferred
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills
  • An entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset with the motivation to develop and grow a territory
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize opportunities, and manage a field-based schedule
  • Proven ability to meet goals, identify opportunities, and follow through on commitments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first approach
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and other business software platforms
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required

Why Mallory?

At Mallory, our Territory Managers have the opportunity to truly own their business while having an experienced team behind them. You'll have established customer relationships to build from, room to develop new business, and the resources of a growing national organization to help you succeed.

Benefits include:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • 7 paid holidays
  • Supplemental benefits including Life and Accident Insurance
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Referral Bonus Program
  • Flexible schedule with opportunities for remote work
  • Professional development and ongoing industry training
  • Opportunities for continued career growth
  • A private, family-owned company with a positive, people-focused culture

Hiring great people is the most important thing we do. If you're motivated, self-driven, energized by building relationships, and excited by the opportunity to grow a territory, we offer an environment where you can make an impact and shine.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
