Job Summary
GAF is seeking a high-energy, self-motivated sales professional with a track record of developing long-lasting relationships and closing deals in the municipal roadway maintenance market. Reporting to GAF Roads Senior Director, the Territory Manager, is a front-line sales role responsible for finding new business, expanding brand and solution awareness, and cultivating a loyal customer base. The Territory Manager will focus on prospecting, meeting targets where they are, and converting their interest into sustainable revenue streams. Specifically, this role will will focus on municipal decision makers who specify and contract roadway maintenance solutions in the territory. This role is remote based with up 75% travel requirements.
Essential Duties

  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Focus: Generate sales opportunities and achieve buy-in from municipal leadership for installing the GAF RoadPerformance System, encompassing material, equipment, and related services
    • Build: Forge lasting and meaningful relationships that translate to sustainable revenue growth and customer loyalty, particularly in those geographic areas that represent strategic opportunities
    • Build: Own, progress, and manage the sales funnel, balancing short-term deal closing opportunities with long-term development projects, and continuously adding to the top of the funnel through lead generating activities
    • Strategize: Use industry experience in combination with in-depth knowledge of the GAF RoadPerformance System to win hearts & minds, overcome objections, and outmaneuver entrenched competitors
    • Strategize: Compile reporting to highlight hits, misses, learning, competitive landscape and strategic next steps; proactively identifying opportunities to exceed expectations and position GAF Roads as leaders in the space
    • Impact: Be pleasant to work with and keep a positive outlook. Know how to have fun, but know how to balance it with work. Embrace and respect different personalities and work with various groups to accomplish territory sales goals. Utilize social media to gain further insight in the market i.e. industry trends, market practices as well as using it to communicate with customers
    • Win: Display diplomacy and a mastered ability to build immediate rapport with anyone. Close the deal.

Qualifications Required

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 5+ years of sales experience in municipal government sales
  • Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record
  • Technical and professional knowledge of the road maintenance and paving industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be highly motivated, energetic and able to present well to large groups
  • Experience with CRMs, in particular HubSpot, a plus
  • Strong computer skills including Google Business Suite
  • Ability to travel within assigned territory
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Ability to maintain a credit card for business-related expenses

Qualifications Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Desire to be part of a team looking to innovate and disrupt a stagnant industry
  • Champion of the challenger sale

Travel Requirements: Up to 75%

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Total Cash Compensation Range: $80,006-$110,009 (inclusive of base salary and an annualized commission target).
