THE ROLE: TEMPORARY SUPPLY PLANNING ASSOCIATE
SmartyPants is looking for a motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented individual for the Associate Supply Planner position. In this role, you'll work closely with Sales, Product Development, Demand Planning, Project Management, Marketing, and Fulfillment to drive inventory strategy and execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support inventory replenishment planning for assigned products and materials
- Participate in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process as a Supply resource
- Provide supply planning support and input for finished goods and WIP products
- Support supply chain process improvements and implementation of new systems
- Support the development and communication of planning parameters and 12-month rolling forecasts for contract manufacturers and suppliers
- Assist with savings initiatives and rebate calculations
- Support product purchasing decisions by considering operational, product, and financial requirements
- Support supplier relationships, production and delivery follow-up, and tracking of supplier scorecards and KPIs
- Support inventory and working capital initiatives across raw materials, components, and finished goods
- Monitor raw material and component inventory availability to support production requirements
- Collaborate with Product Development, Project Management, and Sales on the launching of new products and packaging for eCommerce and wholesale customers
- Identify and help resolve supply issues to minimize disruptions to customer service
- Collaborate with Accounting on inventory reconciliation and adjustments
- Collaborate with Finance on inventory cash flow projections and planning
- Other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned
CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in operations supply chain, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply Planning, Buying, Inventory Planning, or a related position
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Working knowledge of MRP and supply chain planning practices
- Exposure to lead-time management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience supporting or generating purchase orders
- Ability to manage assigned responsibilities, work proactively, and complete tasks within established timeframes
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and a strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively across various mediums.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse personality types and behaviors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast paced environment

- APICS certification
