ABOUT GOODR

We create and sell active eyewear for anyone. No Slip. No Bounce. All Polarized. All Fun. Interested in joining our team? Keep reading.

OUR VALUES: We have two core values: Fun & Authenticity.

  • FUN = Being sh*tty isn’t fun. Agreed? Taking pride in your work, finding joy in being GREAT, and celebrating wins… and losses. Now, that’s fun!
  • AUTHENTICITY = Focusing on being authentic over being liked. (Next-level guru stuff. Count it.)

Fun Fact: We do not allow email to be sent internally. Carrier pigeons only. JK, we use Slack.

AUTONOMY: We practice autonomy, empowerment, and accountability so that every team member can be in control of their own life.

  • HYBRID WORKING: This role is required to be in our Inglewood office every Tuesday and Thursday with the occasional third day thrown in.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a witty Temporary Copywriter who loves buckling down alone in a wordsmith cave, churning out copy requests that feel less like marketing and more like the funny, relatable friend everyone wants advice from—and more importantly, buys things from!

This role requires a creative and proactive lover of words who enjoys working independently to generate copy that genuinely makes us laugh. You’ll have a thorough understanding of how strategy, copy, and design work together, in addition to having a rad sense of humor. So dust off those dad jokes and apply today!!

**Note: This is a TEMPORARY Full-Time position from December 2025 through May 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write strategic marketing copy while perfectly executing the brand voice
  • Write/review high-engagement social media copy that reflects our brand’s voice
  • Write/review copy for channels with different audiences
  • Write/review copy for diverse marketing channels, including email, paid media, website, brand campaigns, print materials, and packaging
  • Proofread and edit content
  • Create product names
  • Work closely with the creative teams to brainstorm ideas and develop concepts to ensure messaging aligns with the goodr brand
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communications while challenging the status quo
  • Educate the company on appropriate brand guidelines and copy process
  • Continuously update the brand book to ensure consistency across the company
  • This role is in the Copy team and will report directly to the Copywriting Manager
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • May or may not have a degree...we don’t care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
  • 3+ years of copywriting experience, preferably within the consumer product world
  • Strong attention to detail with grammar and punctuation to produce error-free content is a MUST
  • Has the ability to handle feedback while adhering to deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with an attitude that always encourages learning and taking on more responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Google applications
  • Familiarity with Asana is a BIG plus
  • Thinks Fun is being great (not partying)
  • Is proactive and an independent problem solver! (Can you google a question?)

WHAT YOU GET

  • This is a Full-Time Temporary position
  • Start date: December 2025
  • End date: May 2026
  • The opportunity to show up every day and have fun
  • To be involved in the most exciting sunglasses brand to hit the athletic space
  • Paycheck....obviously. Hourly range: $33.50 - $38/hour, final number dependent on experience
  • Free sunglasses

NEXT STEPS

Here's what we expect the hiring process for this role to be, should all go well with your candidacy. We aim for this entire process to take no more than four weeks to complete and you'd be expected to start on a specific date.

  1. Application
  2. Fill out a form with basic questions
  3. 30 minute introductory meeting with hiring manager
  4. 30 minute interviews with role manager and peers
  5. Offer!

TO GET THE PROCESS STARTED, REVIEW & SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:

  • Review goodr's Applicant Privacy Policy. By submitting an application to goodr, you are confirming that you have read the Applicant Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. (Because nothing says “fun” like reading legal documents!)
  • Resume
  • Cover letter showing your personality. Seriously. No boring corporate speak allowed.
  • Link(s) to your writing samples
  • A drawing of an octopus fighting a pirate (not joking)*

*We accept submissions using accessibility tools.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
