Job Summary
 

The Compensation Specialist supports the design, analysis, and administration of compensation programs including salary structures, incentive plans, and annual merit processes. Working under the direction of the Director of Total Rewards, this role operates with moderate independence and collaborates closely with Talent, Sales, Account Management, and People Business Partners to deliver accurate and timely compensation recommendations aligned with organizational practices and market competitiveness.
This role is well-suited for an analytical professional with growing expertise in compensation, eager to take on more complex assignments and influence compensation decisions in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Support the administration of base pay structures, incentive programs, and annual compensation planning across both clinical and corporate functions.

  • Conduct job evaluations and market benchmarking for a variety of healthcare roles, interpreting market data to recommend internal alignment and competitive pay ranges.

  • Assist with the design and refinement of job architectures, career frameworks, and classification structures, particularly for patient-facing and licensed provider positions.

  • Audits jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements

  • Maintain and update salary structures, job codes, and compensation-related data within HRIS  and compensation systems (e.g., Payfactors).

  • Participate in and manage portions of compensation surveys relevant to the healthcare sector; analyze and summarize survey findings with recommendations for adjustments.

  • Provide analytical support for compensation-related compliance efforts (e.g., FLSA classification, pay equity, nondiscrimination testing).

  • Familiarity with wage and hour laws, FLSA, and healthcare-specific labor benchmarks.

  • Act as a subject matter resource to internal stakeholders by responding to inquiries about compensation policies, job leveling, and salary ranges with accuracy and discretion.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Benefits and People Operations to ensure alignment in compensation and total rewards practices during events such as leave of absence or organizational changes.

  • Prepare regular and ad hoc compensation reports and dashboards for Compensation leadership and People Business Partners. 

  • Support special projects and process improvements within the Total Rewards function.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent work experience.

  • 3–5 years of experience in compensation analysis or HR, with increasing responsibility and exposure to complex compensation work, preferably within healthcare.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large datasets into actionable recommendations.

  • Familiarity with wage and hour laws, FLSA, and healthcare-specific labor benchmarks​

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting compensation practices for clinical and provider roles in a healthcare or value-based care setting.

  • Working knowledge of Workday and Payfactors (or similar compensation platforms).

  • High proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) with advanced ability to manipulate and analyze datasets.

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain compensation concepts to non-HR stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

The base pay range for this position is $83,528.00 to $108,586 per year. Pay range may vary depending on work location, applicable knowledge, skills, and experience. This position will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K.
