As a Temporary Art Director, you’ll help strengthen the Hagerty brand by producing quality design layouts for high-level event projects, as well as directing and reviewing designs from other Graphic Designers. You’ll be busy collaborating with a talented team of creatives,  quickly learning and adapting Hagerty’s brand guidelines, while bringing in fresh ideas and insights, taking a leadership role on projects, including art direction and project oversight.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, review and approve creative concepts as part of a cross-functional team with consideration of our brand’s overarching look and fee
  • Utilize brand understanding and technical skills in design that Is thoughtful, conceptual and visually compelling with our signature “twinkle in the eye”
  • Explore the boundaries of our guidelines to keep our brand on trend, using our toolkit of assets in new ways while maintaining brand cohesion. Ensure design effectively communicates brand messages and achieves business objectives.
  • Pitch work to creative leadership and support Creative Director when pitching to internal clients. 
  • Collaborate closely with clients, creative leadership, and project team to determine effective strategies or objectives to promote the Hagerty brand.
  • Assist with project management as needed for the team.
  • Deliver design on time implementing consistent, timely, effective communication
  • Facilitate production coordination as needed to cover temporary resource gaps. 
  • Conceptualize, assign and direct photoshoots and create shot lists for asset creation.
  • Assist sourcing third party additional creative resources as needed.

This might describe you

  • Advanced understanding of digital design, print production and pre-flighting processes.
  • Advanced technical proficiencies in Adobe Creative Suite – photoshop, illustrator and InDesign.
  • Expertise in SketchUp or other 3D/rendering tools is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of omni-channel marketing and events.
  • Familiarity with fabrication materials, tech and event production logistics.
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational habits
  • A firm grasp on our brand's "twinkle in the eye"
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborates well with both creative team and the larger Hagerty team
  • Jumps at the chance to craft solutions to creative problems
  • Always keeps our members' point of view in mind when creating
  • Interested in popular culture and new advertising trends and techniques
  • Strong creative leadership abilities
  • Thinks holistically across all mediums to produce effective solutions

Other things to note

  • This position can be worked as a remote position within the United States.
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
