Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager / Construction Manager with a strong background in the telecom industry, specifically in fiber deployment, fiber splicing, fiber installation, and broadband infrastructure. The ideal candidate must possess a C7 or C10 certification, with a preference for candidates holding a C34 certification. This role will oversee fiber network construction projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution:
 

  • Lead and manage fiber deployment and telecom construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.

Construction & Engineering Oversight:

  • Supervise fiber splicing, fiber installation, and network construction activities.
  • Manage contractors and subcontractors, ensuring quality work and adherence to project timelines.
  • Oversee field teams performing fiber optic cable installation, testing, and troubleshooting.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management.
  • Address any construction or technical issues that may arise during project execution.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all work adheres to federal, state, and local telecom regulations.
  • Implement safety protocols and enforce industry best practices on-site.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in telecom infrastructure projects, including fiber optics deployment and broadband networks.

Certifications:

  • C7 or C10 certification required.
  • C34 certification preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic networks, broadband infrastructure, and telecom construction best practices.
  • Proficiency in fiber splicing, fiber testing, and installation techniques.

Project Management Skills:

  • Experience in managing large-scale fiber deployment projects.
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, and risk management capabilities.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification (preferred).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
