In this role

You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, driving service renewals, identifying new sales opportunities, and negotiating agreements that support customer business goals. You will work independently to manage deals from pipeline development through close, partnering with account managers and internal business teams to develop proposals, address customer objections, and establish effective deal strategies. This role requires a proactive sales professional who can build customer relationships, maintain accurate forecasts, manage renewal timelines, and deliver measurable results in a remote, fast-paced environment. You will also contribute to expanding access to technology, training, and services that help education and nonprofit organizations succeed in an AI-driven economy.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, overseeing service renewals, new contract opportunities, and sales activities from initial engagement through deal closure.

  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline by identifying opportunities within existing accounts and developing new business opportunities.

  • Engage directly with customers to understand business needs, discuss service offerings, address objections, and negotiate contract terms and deal structures.

  • Partner with account managers and internal stakeholders to develop proposals, coordinate negotiations, resolve blockers, and accelerate deal closure.

  • Monitor deals in progress, maintain accurate sales forecasts, update pipeline commentary, and communicate risks, progress, and next steps to leadership.

  • Develop account and territory plans to drive revenue growth, improve renewal performance, and identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.

  • Analyze customer portfolios to identify service gaps, growth opportunities, and potential renewal or expansion opportunities.

  • Establish relationships with customer decision-makers and influencers to understand priorities and align service offerings with desired business outcomes.

  • Coordinate with sales, customer success, and service delivery teams to support customer satisfaction, resolve concerns, and improve the overall customer experience.

  • Participate in pipeline reviews, business planning sessions, and forecast meetings to track performance, prioritize opportunities, and develop strategies to overcome sales challenges.

  • Track and improve key performance indicators, including on-time renewals, renewal rates, and recapture rates.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in technology-related sales or account management.

  • At least 3 years of experience in solution sales or consulting services sales.

  • Demonstrated experience managing customer accounts, sales opportunities, renewals, or contract negotiations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in customer-facing environments.

  • Experience managing a sales pipeline, maintaining forecasts, and coordinating deals through the sales cycle.

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of a portfolio of business.

  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, including the ability to address customer objections and resolve deal-related challenges.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with account teams and internal stakeholders to advance sales opportunities and achieve business goals.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience selling technology support services, enterprise services, or customer success solutions.

  • Experience managing service renewals, recurring revenue, contract extensions, or customer retention programs.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing, productivity solutions, enterprise technology, or AI-enabled business solutions.

  • Experience developing account plans, conducting portfolio analysis, identifying sales opportunities, and building pipeline.

  • Experience with sales forecasting, renewal tracking, revenue growth, and performance metrics.

  • Familiarity with structured sales methodologies, opportunity qualification, and deal-closing strategies.

  • Experience working with education, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organizations.

  • Experience collaborating with customer success, technical sales, service delivery, and business operations teams.

  • A demonstrated record of achieving sales targets, improving renewal performance, or delivering measurable customer and business outcomes

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
