Technical Writer

Mondoo is creating a new way that helps companies keep their users and data safe from hackers around the world. We believe that core engineers who have both technical excellence and empathy to the developer experience will help our customers take action against attackers.

We’re looking for a Technical Writer who can bring clarity, depth, and storytelling to everything from product documentation to technical blogs. This isn’t your standard “docs only” writing role. We want someone who’s passionate about translating complex technical concepts into clear, engaging content that helps our customers and supports our marketing efforts. You’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and marketing to create documentation and technical content that educates, builds trust, and positions Mondoo as the go-to voice for security.

• Own technical content creation: Write detailed, high-quality documentation, public guides, product tutorials, and technical deep dives.

• Drive product storytelling: Help explain how and why Mondoo works translating new product capabilities into content that speaks to IT security teams.

• Partner with Product and Engineering: Work closely with internal teams to stay on top of what’s shipping and how best to explain it to technical audiences.

• Support and collaborate with Marketing: Act as the bridge between technical product understanding and marketing needs, especially for more advanced, security-focused content (blogs, product pages, video scripts, etc.).

• Contribute to technical content strategy: Help shape the direction and structure of Mondoo’s technical content, not just write it. Guide Mondoo towards the most effective approach in making our users successful.

• Experiment with formats: Contribute to blog posts, video scripts, product explainers, or other content that helps customers understand and adopt Mondoo.

• Think docs, but beyond docs: While documentation is part of the job, this role goes far beyond traditional docs; you’ll shape how we tell our technical story end-to-end.

• 6+ years experience in a technical writing or technical content creation role preferably in a cybersecurity start-up.

• Excellent writing skills: able to create clear, structured, and engaging content for technical audiences.

• A product mindset: you think in terms of user experience and customer needs, and you’re curious about how things work under the hood.

• Technical expertise: you are familiar with and can help create content for deeply technical tools. You don’t shy away from the CLI or working in repos.

• Comfort collaborating across functions: especially product, engineering, and marketing, as well as customer-facing engineering.
