BetterHelp is on a mission to remove the traditional barriers to therapy and make mental health care more accessible to everyone. Founded in 2013, we are now the world’s largest online therapy service, providing affordable and convenient therapy across the globe. Our network of over 30,000 licensed therapists has helped millions of people take ownership of their mental health and change their lives forever. And we’re not stopping there – as the unmet need for mental health services continues to grow, BetterHelp is committed to being part of the solution.

As a Technical Talent Sourcer at BetterHelp, you’ll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. And as a mental health company, we take employee mental health just as seriously as we do our mission. We deeply invest in our team’s well-being and professional development, because we know that business and individual growth go hand-in-hand. At BetterHelp, you’ll carve your own path, make an immediate impact, and be challenged every day – with a supportive community behind you the whole way.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a driven Technical Talent Sourcer with a passion for getting things done and building a world-class team! This person will collaborate and work closely with hiring managers and leadership to build teams across the business to support our company's growth. You'll work with colleagues who share the same goals, passion, and vision in building a rapidly growing company that's making mental healthcare more accessible to all!

What will you do?

  • Work closely with our recruiting team and hiring managers to understand candidate qualifications and develop seamless processes for each role.
  • Build, track, and maintain high-quality talent pipelines utilizing targeted searches for specialized skill sets.
  • Represent BetteHelp’s culture and values in interactions with candidates, partners and stakeholders to create a positive and welcoming experience for candidates.
  • Utilize LinkedIn Recruiter, Teamable, various job boards, referrals, and other methods for candidate outreach.
  • Understand the market and be a student of the industry to successfully run targeted search campaigns.
  • Partner with the Talent team to schedule recruiter screens, video interviews, and reference calls.

What will you NOT do?

  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
  • You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
  • You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.

Can I work remotely?

Yes. We operate in Pacific Time and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply.

Requirements

  • 1-3+ years of recruiting experience sourcing technical and non-technical roles with an in-house recruiting team, search firm, or staffing agency.
  • Demonstrated success engaging sourced/passive candidates and ability to think outside the box when it comes to attracting new candidates.
  • Excellent communication skills, a keen eye for process improvements, and an inclination towards using data to drive decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail and are constantly striving to measure and track all aspects of the recruiting process.
  • You understand and embrace that at the end of the day, recruiting is about results. More than that you like being part of a team that achieves those results, consistently and thoughtfully.
  • Ability to work in the US, to travel to our Mountain View, California offices up to three times per year and to an additional company offsite.

Benefits

  • The chance to build something that changes lives – and that people love
  • Free BetterHelp accounts for all team members

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
