Provide technical support for AWS-based systems, troubleshoot issues, document processes, and assist Client Success teams.
What Is The Opportunity?
We’re seeking a skilled technical independent contractor to provide ongoing support for our AWS-based technology platform. This role combines proactive technical troubleshooting with on-call availability to ensure our systems run smoothly and our Client Success teams have the technical backup they need.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain working knowledge of our AWS-based technology platform
- Coordinate with Client Success teams to troubleshoot technical issues
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to resolve product-level problems
- Write and maintain technical playbooks and documentation
- Prepare detailed incident reports and post-mortems
- Provide on-call support with defined response time commitments
- Scale availability during release schedule spikes
Required Technical Skills
- AWS services: S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS, and EC2
- Monitoring & Logging: Datadog for log analysis and troubleshooting
- Systems: Linux administrators and bash scripting
- Database: SQL query writing and optimization
Who You Are
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and proposing solutions to moderately complex application and infrastructure problems
- Skilled troubleshooter capable of independently resolving issues across multiple domains
- Effective communicator who bridges support, development and operations teams
- Ability to explain technical concepts form engineers to management
- Excellent written communication skills for documentation and incident reporting
- 5+ years of AWS infrastructure experience
Hard Requirements
- U.S. Citizen in possession of, or eligible to qualify for, a Public Trust clearance
- Flexible availability with ability to scale up during release periods
- Reliable on-call responsiveness:
- Critical issues: 2-hour response time
- High priority: 4-hour response time
- Standard: Next business day
Work Schedule
- Remote work
- Around 20 hours per month (core commitment)
- Additional 40 hours in the first month for training
- On-call availability during core business hours
- May require hours above 20 for spike periods requiring higher engagement
