About Uplane (YC F25)

Companies waste billions on bad ads, mismatched landing pages, and poor budget allocation. Uplane fixes this by replacing a patchwork of agencies, spreadsheets, and siloed tools with one self-improving AI system. It creates ads, builds matching landing pages, allocates budgets across different channels, and more. We are building the AI engine that will manage and spend the world's marketing budget.

About The Role

We're seeking a hands-on Technical Solutions Engineer to be the technical backbone of our managed service business. Your job is to make AI-generated landing pages convert and measure correctly: set up and test performance-marketing tracking, wire up commerce and conversion features, fix and fine-tune pages, and act as the technical point of contact for our clients. The work sits between front-end engineering and performance marketing. You'll work remotely as a contractor, full-time, in close collaboration with our team and customers.

Why Join

  • Be an early team member at a well-funded, YC-backed startup

  • Solve a massive problem in a massive market

  • Take ownership and grow quickly; your work directly drives client results (and revenue)

  • Remote-first contract with a fast-moving, ambitious, fun, humble team

Responsibilities

  • Performance Marketing Tracking: Set up, implement, and test conversion tracking on landing pages.

  • Conversion & Commerce Integrations: Integrate purchase and checkout features (e.g. Shopify) so customers can buy directly on the AI-built landing pages. Wire up forms, payment flows, and webhooks.

  • Landing Page Fixes & Fine-Tuning: Debug, polish, and fine-tune landing pages built by our AI marketing strategists, including front-end fixes, responsive issues, layout, and page speed.

  • Client Tech Support: Be the technical point of contact for our clients via Slack. Troubleshoot issues, communicate clearly and proactively, and own problems through to resolution.

  • Learn, Adapt & Automate: Our stack keeps growing. Stay curious and flexible, picking up new tracking tools, integrations, and platforms as our needs evolve. Automate as much of your own work as you can.

Requirements

  • Front-end coding experience (must-have): You're comfortable building and editing responsive front-ends with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Junior candidates are welcome, and we care more about raw ability and drive than years of experience.

  • Hard-working, smart, and humble. You take ownership and are willing to solve whatever problem you or the customers may face. You don't give up until the issue is solved.

  • A people person with fluent written English. You'll support clients directly over Slack, so you communicate clearly, proactively, and with patience.

  • A fast learner. You're excited to pick up performance-marketing tracking and new tools quickly. No prior tracking experience required.

  • Able to work independently as a full-time remote contractor, in a time zone that overlaps well with Europe or the US (Latin America, Europe, or US all welcome).

Nice to Have

  • Experience with performance-marketing tracking (GTM, GA4, pixels, conversion APIs): a real plus, but not required, and we'll help you learn it

  • Experience integrating Shopify or checkout/payment flows

  • Previous touchpoints with marketing, AdTech, or an agency/consulting environment

Tech Stack (what you'll work with)

  • Tracking & Analytics: Google Tag Manager, GA4, Meta Pixel + Conversions API, Google Ads / TikTok / LinkedIn pixels

  • Commerce & Integrations: Shopify, checkout/payment, forms, webhooks

  • Front-end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

  • Collaboration: Slack, Notion, Linear

  • …and more. Our stack evolves, so flexibility to learn new tools is expected

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
