POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a boots on the ground, customer focused position that works closely with local farmers, municipalities, and farming organizations to ensure compliance with the land application program. This position will work closely with Synagro operations with coordinating delivery of biosolids to permitted sites.  To be successful in this role you will need excellent planning and time management skills as well as a good understanding of land sourcing, permitting, nutrient management, and land mapping.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reports to and receives directions from Technical Services Manager.
  • Manage land base inventory to meet operational requirements and provide strategic growth for the business.
  • Prepare permit applications and NMP’s as needed for sites. This may include, but is not limited to:
    1. Soil and biosolids sampling.
    2. Analyzing various waste streams to determine their physical, chemical, and biological characteristics.
    3. Geo mapping services.
    4. Interpretation of soil, tax and topographical maps; and applicable regulations to determine land base acceptability and compliant product use for spreading residuals.
  • Effective time management and logistical planning.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a group setting.
  • Provide support to Technical Services and operations with coordinating pick-up and delivery of residuals and biosolids.
  • Participate in professional and agricultural organizations as assigned.
  • Provide technical information and presentations to farmers, regulatory agencies, municipalities, clients, and the public.
  • Maintain farmer, client, and community relationships through clear communication.

STATUS AND SCOPE:

  • Reports to and receives directions from TSM.
  • Working knowledge of applicable local, CA, and federal regulations related to biosolids management.
  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures, methods and techniques used in agricultural and/or farming operations.
  • Knowledge of biosolids and other residuals management practices.
  • Perform duties in a safe, compliant, and professional.
  • Proficient with MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Mapping Programs.
  • Ability and willingness to attain knowledge of biosolids and other residual management practices.
  • Ability to work weekends and holiday, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Soil Science, Agriculture, Agronomy or Environmental Science preferred or minimum of two years’ experience in a related field.
  • Capable of certifying in an agricultural science discipline such as crop evaluation, soil, ground and water evaluator.

Salary: $70,000 - $ 90,000 based on experience
