Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Executive to drive commercial growth across our precision machining and CNC fabrication business. This is a hunter-oriented role for a producer who already understands custom manufacturing, can speak directly with client engineering teams, and can quote and close high-margin, custom manufacturing runs. The ideal candidate brings an active, portable book of business and existing relationships with aerospace and heavy industrial OEMs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow new business within custom precision machining and CNC fabrication
- Leverage and expand an existing book of business across aerospace and heavy industrial OEMs
- Interface directly with client engineering and procurement teams to scope, quote, and secure custom manufacturing runs
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through quoting, negotiation, and close
- Prioritize high-margin, custom production opportunities
- Build long-term relationships that drive repeat and recurring manufacturing volume
- Partner with internal engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure quotes are accurate and deliverable
Preferred
- Existing relationships with Midwest OEMs and designers/engineers
- Familiarity with milling, turning, welding, assembly, and reverse engineering processes
- Comfort with prototyping-through-production sales cycles
Requirements
- Proven commercial growth / technical sales experience within precision machining, CNC fabrication, or custom manufacturing (target ~10+ years)
- Active, portable book of business with current OEM relationships
- Experience selling into aerospace and/or heavy industrial OEMs
- Strong technical aptitude, able to interface credibly with client engineering teams on custom, spec-driven work
- Track record of quoting and closing high-margin custom manufacturing runs
- Based in or able to cover the Midwest territory
