Hedra is a pioneering generative media company backed by top investors at Index, A16Z, and Abstract Ventures. We're building Hedra Studio, a multimodal creation platform capable of control, emotion, and creative intelligence.

At the core of Hedra Studio is our Character-3 foundation model, the first omnimodal model in production. Character-3 jointly reasons across image, text, and audio for more intelligent video generation — it’s the next evolution of AI-driven content creation.

The Hedra team is fully in-person in SF/NY.

Overview:

We’re looking for our first technical recruiter to help us scale Hedra’s world-class engineering and research teams. In this role, you’ll work closely with leadership to identify, attract, and hire exceptional software engineers, machine learning engineers, and research scientists who can contribute to Hedra's product vision and roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive full-cycle recruiting across research and engineering roles, from pipeline generation to close.

  • Implement multi-channel sourcing strategies to identify and engage top talent in distributed systems, AI/ML research, and full-stack engineering.

  • Work with existing RPO/recruiting partners to maintain a healthy, high-quality top of funnel

  • Build and nurture talent pools for both near-term hires and long-term team growth.

  • Foster a positive candidate experience by ensuring timely communication and engagement.

  • Develop compelling outreach messaging that captures Hedra’s mission and excites candidates about hard, meaningful problems.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience at a high-growth tech company, with early-stage start-up experience preferred.

  • Proven ability to identify, engage, and close passive candidates for highly technical roles.

  • Excellent written communication for personalized outreach and candidate engagement.

  • Experience with modern ATS systems (we use Ashby) and workflows.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation and equity

  • 401k (no match)

  • Healthcare (Silver PPO Medical, Vision, Dental)

  • Lunch and snacks at the office

We encourage you to apply even if you don't fully meet all the listed requirements; we value potential and diverse perspectives, and your unique skills could be a great asset to our team.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
