Job Description

CAI is hiring! We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager for 6-month+ contract opportunity that is hybrid in Long Beach, CA. This position will serve as the primary project management resource supporting Infrastructure Operations while coordinating efforts across Security Operations, Network Operations, Enterprise Architecture, Business Applications, and external vendors and partners. This role requires strong communication skills as well as technical expertise across cloud technology and services.
What You’ll Do

  • Manage a portfolio of strategic cloud and infrastructure modernization projects

  • Track dependencies across architecture, security, identity, endpoint computing, and business applications

  • Monitor resource utilization and identify scheduling conflicts

  • Escalate project risks and resource constraints to leadership

  • Cross-functional coordination

  • Establish and facilitate agile/scrum delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

  • Work with technical leads, product owners, engineers, architects, and stakeholders to develop and maintain prioritized product and project backlogs

  • Manage dependencies between agile teams, vendors, operational teams, and projects following project delivery methodologies

  • Ensure technical debt, operational readiness, documentation, security requirements, and support-transition activities are incorporated into project and sprint planning

  • Coordinate vendors including consulting partners, Microsoft, professional services, software vendors, system integrators

  • Develop Statement of Work (SOW)

  • Monitor budget and deliverables

  • Schedule and escalation management

  • Assess organizational impacts

  • Develop implementation plans track organizational readiness

  • Coordinate communications

  • Support user adoption

What You’ll Need

Required

  • 10+ years of project management experience in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity or cloud transformation projects

  • Proven ability to operate at both the project delivery and program oversight levels, managing multiple concurrent projects and dependencies

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; able to operate with minimal direction and drive resolution when gaps arise

  • Technical fluency across infrastructure, security, networking, hardware, software, and enterprise architecture domains

  • Skilled in cross-functional communication, including the ability to influence without direct authority and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Experience working across multiple IT functions, navigating cross-team dependencies, and balancing competing priorities

  • Experience working with both internal technical teams and external vendors or service providers

  • Ability to work effectively in both structured and ambiguous environments

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

  • Individuals in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and viewing of monitors, with exposure to moderate noise levels. Work is performed in office and data center environments.

$100 - $106 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
