Kunai builds full-stack technology solutions for banks, credit and payment networks, infrastructure providers, and their customers. Together, we are changing the world’s relationship with financial services. At Kunai, we help our clients modernize, capitalize on emerging trends, and evolve their business for the coming decades by remaining tech-agnostic and human-centered.

We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead a high-impact cloud migration effort across hundreds of applications and multiple lines of business. This initiative is critical to driving our client’s tech organization to the finish line as they transition to a modern AWS account structure.

In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with business leaders, product managers, engineers, and architects to map, prioritize, and execute the migration roadmap. Your ability to solve complex challenges, navigate competing priorities, and drive win/win outcomes will be key to your success.

What You’ll Do:
  • Drive planning and delivery of large-scale application migrations to AWS

  • Coordinate across dev teams, architects, and business stakeholders to remove roadblocks and maintain momentum

  • Own end-to-end program management — tracking milestones, identifying risks, and reporting on progress

  • Provide technical guidance and strategic direction on cloud migration planning and execution

  • Solve cross-team challenges with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise cloud standards and long-term technology goals

What You Bring:
  • Proven experience managing large-scale technical programs with multiple workstreams

  • Strong understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture, and enterprise cloud account structures

  • Experience with software delivery lifecycle, program/project management, and stakeholder alignment.

  • Ideally you began you career in software engineering, DevOps, and/or cloud engineering.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work across product, business, and engineering teams to drive outcomes

  • Leadership and ownership mindset — proactive, collaborative, and impact-driven

  • Industry experience in banking, fintech, or enterprise technology

  • AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)

Preferred Certifications:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)

Salary Range: $120,000 - $205,000 annually
This range reflects the base salary that we reasonably expect to pay a Technical Program Manager. Actual compensation may vary depending on relevant factors including experience, skills, location, and client billing.

Our success over the past 20 years is rooted in our exceptional team, which thrives in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning.
We are proud to offer our employees a range of benefits, including competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and flexible work arrangements, all designed to help them thrive. As we continue to expand, we remain committed to cultivating an environment where people feel valued, have a voice, and are given the tools to grow—both personally and professionally—while pushing the boundaries of innovation in the fintech industry.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
