We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to join NetBox Labs and help us accelerate delivery of our commercial and open-source products. In this role, you will drive high-impact programs across engineering and product teams, supporting our mission to make it easier to build and manage complex networks and infrastructure.

The right TPM for this role is a force multiplier for our entire engineering org. You build deep trust by consistently showing up with clarity, structure, and follow-through—focusing on outcomes and team success rather than personal recognition. You instinctively identify where a little coordination unlocks a lot of momentum, and you know how to get there without creating drag. You speak the language of engineers, technical leads, and product managers, and you translate ambition into aligned, focused execution. You lead through influence and trust—people know that when you're involved, plans move forward, blockers get resolved, and the team delivers.

Your work will directly improve our ability to ship faster, reduce friction across teams, and scale our engineering organization with confidence. This is a new, fully remote position that reports to the CTO.

What You'll Do

  • Own the execution of technical programs across multiple teams, aligning work with company priorities and product strategy

  • Create a consistent cadence of accountability by:

    • Collaborating with stakeholders to establish project scope, timelines and milestones

    • Tracking action items and ensuring timely follow-through

    • Driving critical conversations that enable forward momentum and unblock decision-making

    • Aggregating status updates and execution risks in a way that allows leadership to adjust course as needed

  • Keep multiple workstreams moving in parallel by breaking down complex efforts into manageable parts and coordinating just enough to stay aligned—without forcing every team into every meeting or decision

  • Understand technical content deeply enough to:

    • Recognize when updates have cross-cutting implications or potential blockers

    • Proactively connect the right people across teams and contexts to address issues early

  • Pair closely with product and technical leads to share context, enabling both effective decision-making and minimal overhead in communication and coordination

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with engineers to understand challenges and remove blockers

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in how we plan and deliver software

What You'll Bring

  • Prior experience working in a high-growth startup environment, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous settings.

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program or project management roles

  • Understanding of value streams, promoting flow, optimizing cognitive capacity, and modern team structures such as stream-aligned and platform, as described in Team Topologies

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a bias toward action and impact

  • Proven ability to lead through influence and relationships, not hierarchy

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to adapt in a fast-changing environment

  • Experience with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) and how they can accelerate coordination and execution

Our Tech Stack

  • Dev: Python, Go, Javascript, Containers, Services, Events

  • Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, AWS, Linux

  • Tools: GitHub, Linear, Slack, Notion

Our culture and values:
  • We own and solve problems with high attention to detail.

  • Our open source contributors, users, customers & team are all part of our community. When our community wins, we win.

  • We prioritize simplicity and think twice before adding complexity

  • Clear communication helps keep our team aligned and collaborating smoothly.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
