Supabase is an Open Source and fully remote company building developer tools for databases.

We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to work directly with our largest and most strategic customers. This role is a mix of program management, technical problem-solving, and customer collaboration — perfect for someone who thrives in cross-functional environments and wants to make a visible impact both internally and externally.

What you’ll do
  • Lead end-to-end technical programs for our largest clients, owning timelines, deliverables, and cross-team dependencies.

  • Translate client technical requirements into clear specs and partner with Engineering to define solution approaches.

  • Run weekly technical steering meetings with strategic clients covering progress on program milestones, KPIs, incident summaries, support escalations, etc

  • Translate client requirements into RFCs and coordinate across internal teams including Engineering, Support, Product

  • Collect and synthesize client feedback; draft RFCs for product enhancements and guide them through our product process

  • Identify technical, operational, or resourcing risks early; define mitigation plans and escalate appropriately.

What you bring
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent and 5+ years in a Technical Program Manager or equivalent role.

  • Proven track record managing multi-threaded, technical programs with global stakeholders and fast-moving priorities.

  • Exceptional at simplifying complex technical concepts for both engineering and non-technical audiences.

  • Comfortable translating user stories into technical RFCs

  • A customer-obsessed mindset

  • Skilled at defining success metrics, monitoring SLAs, and using data to guide decisions and process improvements.

We offer:
  • 100% remote work from anywhere in the world. No location-based adjustment to your salary.

  • Autonomous work. We work collaboratively on projects, but you set your own pace.

  • Health, Vision and Dental benefits. Supabase covers 100% of the cost for employees and 80% for dependants

  • Generous Tech Allowance for any office setup you need

  • Annual Education Allowance

  • Annually run off-sites.

About the team
  • We're a startup. It's unstructured.

  • Collectively founded more than 30 startups.

  • Globally distributed team with more than 30 different nationalities.

  • We deeply believe in the efficacy of collaborative open source. We support existing communities and tools, rather than building "yet another xx".

  • We "dogfood" everything. If you use it in your project, we use it in Supabase.

Process
  • The entire process is fully remote and all communication will happen over email or via video chat.

  • Once you've submitted your application, the team will review your submission and may reach out for a short screening interview over a video call.

  • If you pass the screen you will be invited to up to four follow-up interviews.

  • The calls:

    • usually take between 20-45 minutes each depending on the interviewer.

    • most of the time, are all 1:1.

    • will be with the founders, a member of either the growth or engineering team (depending on the role) and usually one other person from your immediate team or function.

  • Once the interviews are over, the team will meet to discuss several roles and candidates and may:

    • ask one or two follow-up questions over email or a quick call.

    • go directly to making an offer.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
