As a Technical Product Specialist (TPS), you are the glue between our customer-facing teams (Sales, Customer Success, Business Development, Partner Management) and the teams that build our products (Product, Engineering, Analytics).  You ensure that our employers and partners have a seamless experience in posting their jobs and receiving candidate applications.  As a Technical Product Specialist, you help resolve technical issues when they arise by debugging technical issues, supporting and educating our front-line teams, and providing a first-class experience to our customers and partners.  In addition, you will support our Product & Engineering teams on strategic projects to help improve our experience for employers and job seekers alike.


Key Focuses:

  • As a Technical Product Specialist, you will support our front-line, customer-facing and partner-facing teams (Sales, Customer Success, Business Development, Partner Management) with technical issues and product support.  This includes:
  • Cultivating expert-level knowledge of ZipRecruiter’s products and services
  • Fielding questions and respond to technical customer issues raised by front-line teams across the company, solving what you can and escalating to appropriate teams as needed
  • Developing an understanding of ZipRecruiter's 3rd party software integrations, including how to set up, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
  • Creating training documentation for support teams
  • Presenting product, technology, and process updates to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • In addition, you will support our Product and Engineering teams through:
  • Tracking common issues and recommending product solutions
  • Investigating bugs (including writing SQL queries, reviewing logs, reviewing tracking information) and presenting theories and supporting data to appropriate teams
  • Assisting with research or labeling of data sets to inform machine learning model evaluation
  • Assisting with strategic projects aligned to top company priorities
  • Taking an active role in ensuring a high quality job seeker experience, starting with the job content we present

  • Hands-On: You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting into the nitty-gritty every day.
  • Confident: You aren't afraid to speak up and contribute to conversations, comment in tickets, or chime in on Slack. 
  • Self-Directed:  You are organized, proactive, and possess the ability to work independently from home.
  • AI-Adept:  You routinely leverage AI to help you work more efficiently in your day-to-day

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  3+ years experience in a relevant role (digital ad technology / ad operations, recruitment tech, solutions engineering, or similar)
  • Understanding of 3rd party tracking methods including URL redirects, URL parameters, browser cookies, and conversion pixels
  • Proficiency writing SQL queries
  • Experience with basic data analysis and familiarity with tools that allow you to explore and visualize data to identify key trends (e.g. Excel, Tableau, Google Analytics, Databricks, Periscope, other analytics software)
  • Experience working with SalesForce, JIRA, Fogbugz, or similar ticket management platform

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read basic log files, XML, or JSON for troubleshooting
  • Bachelor’s Degree

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $77,500-$92,500. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.

Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
