Job Description:

The Role

We are looking for a strategic, highly technical Director of Technical Product Marketing to join our high-impact marketing team. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will partner with Product Management to translate technical roadmaps into differentiated, revenue-generating market positions.

You will own the communication strategy, serving as the essential link between Architecture, Engineering, Product Management, and customer-facing Sales teams. Your mission is to convert technical specifications and market data into compelling, visual storytelling and marketing materials that drive revenue. You will distill complex technical details into clear customer-centric narratives, building unwavering confidence and establishing SiFive as the clear leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Storytelling & Differentiation: Build strong messaging frameworks post product commit to transform raw PPA data and technical details into high-impact visual narratives that articulate SiFive’s superior value proposition compared to industry alternatives.

  • Core Outbound Content Creation: Develop the "meat" of our post-launch marketing campaigns by creating high-value assets including infographics, case studies, product briefs, and e-books designed to nurture prospects into next quarter’s revenue.

  • Creative Collaboration: Partner effectively with internal graphic design teams and external agencies to ensure technical concepts are translated into world-class visual assets and professional marketing collateral.

  • Deep-Dive Sales Enablement: Partner with Product Managers and architects to build "deep-dive" NDA-level customer materials and technical presentations that inspire confidence and win complex technical evaluations.

  • Connecting the Dots: Translate deep technical specifications into customer-centric use cases, ensuring our audience understands exactly how SiFive technology solves their specific engineering challenges.

  • Full-Funnel Content Strategy: Creation of technical marketing content, from white papers and technical blogs to webinars, that uses data-driven storytelling to drive lead generation and conversion.

  • Technical Training & Leadership: Design and deliver comprehensive training for global sales teams, empowering them to explain complex technologies in a way that establishes SiFive as the clear market leader.

  • Demo & Proof of Concept: Oversee the development of technical demos that visually showcase SiFive’s performance advantages in Automotive/Embedded or AI/High-Performance Computing environments.

  • Strategic Roadmap Management: Form and execute a strategic roadmap of marketing activities and projects to improve the impact and success of specific product programs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science), Marketing, or Business.

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in technical product marketing, product marketing, or related roles within the semiconductor industry.

  • Technical Domain Expertise: Deep fluency in CPU/GPU/AI IP/Chips

  • Communication & Artistry: Exceptional ability to distill "super technical" details into clear, inspiring messages and visual content that resonates with both engineering and executive audiences.

  • Agency & Design Management: Experience managing creative workflows, including providing clear creative briefs to designers and agencies to produce high-quality technical marketing assets.

  • Collaboration: Proven track record of bridging the gap between highly technical engineering teams and customer-facing sales organizations.

Nice to Haves

  • Direct experience with RISC-V or ARM architectures and the semiconductor IP business model.

  • Hands-on technical experience in hardware design or software development.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
