Zoox is building the future of transportation. To do that, we’re also building an incredible crew—united by our mission, energized by our values, and driven by our purpose.

The Product Experience Team at Zoox works across the company to define and champion the “Human Experience." We are looking for a Product Manager to lead our "Acquire" team, which is focused on the most critical part of our customer's journey: from the moment they download the app to the moment they take their first ride. Your core mission will be to grow our user base by creating a world-class, frictionless, and delightful onboarding experience.

In this role, you will be a cross-functional leader, partnering closely with Leadership, Marketing, Operations, In-Vehicle Experience teams, and more to build a cohesive and compelling journey for our newest riders. You will own the mobile app experience for new users, while also exploring multiple technical pathways to drive growth. This includes deep collaboration with marketing and communications and utilizing AI to create never-before-seen experiences in a ride-sharing application.

We are growing a team of exceptional people to help invent the future of mobility. If you care about the impact of technology in our society, if you can't stop thinking about how to help improve people's lives, and you want to work on some of the most exciting challenges of our time to inspire and enable a better future, get in touch!

In this role you will:

  • Craft and own a multi-year growth strategy and product roadmap focused on converting new users from app download to their first ride.
  • Own the end-to-end new user experience, from initial app download and onboarding to the successful completion of their first ride, ensuring a seamless and delightful journey.
  • Develop a deep, data-driven understanding of new user behavior, market trends, and key business objectives to identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Operations, and the In-Vehicle Experience teams to build cohesive acquisition funnels and a world-class, cross-functional onboarding journey.
  • Lead the exploration and implementation of innovative technical pathways to drive user growth, including leveraging AI and machine learning to create personalized, never-before-seen experiences within the app.
  • Serve as the Product Owner for your dedicated Agile development team, defining the product backlog, setting clear priorities, and driving incremental improvements.
  • Ruthlessly prioritize features based on their potential impact on user acquisition, conversion rates, and time-to-first-ride, ensuring these priorities are clearly communicated across all stakeholder teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of shipping and iterating on high-growth, consumer products
  • Deep customer empathy and a consummate advocate for your users
  • Strong analytical skills, with hands-on experience in A/B testing, data analysis, and defining/tracking growth metrics (e.g., activation, conversion funnels, time-to-first-ride).
  • A bias for action and a proven track record of delivering measurable results against key growth targets.
  • Comfort and excitement for creating clarity in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and working on technologies that have never been done before.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience building and growing mobile apps
  • Experience optimizing products in market
  • Experience working in the AV, mobility, or product that interacts with the real world

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
