About Company

Collinear powers leading AI labs and Fortune 500 enterprises with high-signal post-training datasets and RL environments, helping teams improve model quality faster and at lower cost.

We simulate realistic, multi-turn user and adversarial scenarios to uncover how models fail in production, then turn those failures into curated data and reinforcement learning environments for CPT, SFT, and RL. The result is faster convergence, stronger robustness, and measurable gains where it matters most.

Collinear is a VC-backed startup serving frontier labs and F500 enterprises deploying real-world AI systems at scale.

Why Join Collinear
  • Shape product direction early: Define and create the product roadmap for our core data and RL Gym offerings

  • Translate vague customer requirements: You can operate under uncertainty and convert vague pain points into actionable improvements to the product

  • High impact: Your decisions have direct influence on how customers build, evaluate, and continuously improve AI agents.

  • Deep technical domain: Work at the intersection of product, research, and AI infrastructure.

  • Fast iteration: Small team, short feedback loops, and direct access to founders.

  • Growth opportunities: Help build a product foundation that shapes Collinear’s strategic identity.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Technical Product Lead to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of Collinear’s platform offerings. This is a hands-on role that bridges customer insight, technical execution, and product trajectory. You’ll work closely with engineering, research, and customer teams to translate ambiguous, high-value problems into clear product outcomes. You should thrive in ambiguity, balance strategic thinking with operational rigor, and enjoy collaborating across functions.

What You’ll Do
  • Define and drive the product roadmap for Collinear’s AI agent improvement product from inception to delivery and deployment

  • Translate ambiguous customer problems around agent reliability, failure modes, and model quality into concrete product requirements, specs, and prioritization decisions.

  • Partner closely with engineering, research, sales, and marketing to scope and ship features across agent simulations, evaluation metrics, data generation, and post-training pipelines, balancing speed with technical rigor.

  • Work directly with enterprise customers and AI practitioners to understand how agents fail in production and incorporate those insights into product direction.

  • Define and own product success metrics related to evaluation coverage, signal quality, and customer impact, iterating based on real usage.

  • Balance near-term delivery with long-term platform design, ensuring the product scales across new domains, use cases, and evaluation workflows.

  • Communicate product vision, tradeoffs, and progress clearly across engineering, research, and leadership.

About You

You are a strategic and execution-oriented product leader who:

  • Has 3–7+ years of product management experience, ideally with technical products or developer-facing platforms.

  • Is comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with evolving customer needs.

  • Has a strong technical aptitude — able to partner effectively with engineers, understand complex systems, and reason about trade-offs.

  • Can balance strategic vision with operational excellence, setting direction while shipping impactful features.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and stakeholders.

  • Is developer-centric, with experience conducting customer interviews, synthesizing feedback, and applying insights to product work.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with AI agent infrastructure, tooling, simulations and RL environments

  • Experience with building platforms involving human operations and logistics, including managing human labelers and operational workflows

  • Background in AI infrastructure or developer platforms.

  • Familiarity with enterprise customer workflows and product adoption challenges.

  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
